If that was Del in the Pink who the hell was in the bright Green???

I really don't understand the almost universal disdain for what Tim's trying to achieve.
Today I snowboarded down the north face of the Eiger. You gonna congratulate me too?![]()

cant someone just ban him from talking complete utter shi7e
Apart from the fact that he freely admitted last week it was all a wind up, whats new. He's still talking rubbish and its still a wind up.

Hi Tim thanks for the update glad to here it is really going well and you broke the 300 yard mark.
Please keep me up to date with any further improvements but rather than post on here and suffer this abuse please can you post your results on www.idontgivearatsass.org.uk

You really think him admitting it was a wind up was true?
Is it rubbish because you don't believe he can swing at 110 or that he can't improve that much?

If I believed you, yes. However I don't, but what reason do we have to not believe the OP?

Same response to someone who's happy that they've broken 100/90/80, or first birdie or eagle, even first wedge stone dead or first chip in?
Half the time I think one or two 'respected' forum members have a dig then everyone else thinks it's cool to jump on the bandwagon.
Maybe this isn't the forum I thought it was

I also don't get why people who believe it's a wind up, fuel it more?

Did he not say on the other thread it was all just a wind up?
Nowt wrong with trying to improve your swingspeed. Nowt wrong with discussing trying to improve your swingspeed. Not much wrong with posting about your swingspeed and whether or not you are seeing improvements. Nothing wrong with putting the ball out there at 300yds occasionally if you can do it
Assuming this isn't a wind-up we need to know what effect this increase in swingspeed is having on scores. Swinging at 120mph and smacking it 300 on the range means nothing until it happens on the course and reduces your scores as a result.
Give us some meat on the bones and you may get an easier ride on here.
Okay, my overall objective is to reach low single figures and scratch. I consider a major priority in that goal the ability to hit the ball long, not just off the tee but with the irons also. I see the second priority the accuracy of approach shots. The third priority I believe is short game. As for putting, I believe as long as you can get to within 6 feet of the hole then that's job done (the chances of sinking 16foot putts on anything but premium greens is negligible - so within 6feet is good enough). Other people on here disagree with this approach, I accept that.
As a sub-goal: I want to hit the ball long (with all reasonable accuracy) just for the hell of it - and to prove to myself that the Tour Pros are not biomechanically superior. I want to hit 210yd greens with a 5-iron. I want to hit my PW 140 yards, and I want to hit my driver 300 yards.

What I've discovered so far in this quest is that my arm technique was totally wrong and restrictive. My left arm was always higher that my right - in effect my left arm was wrapping around my body. What I've now realised through attempting different things was that I need to extend my right arm much further so as to increases swing arc which naturally generates 25% more speed than I had before. In effect, I wasn't using my right arm at all.
It took me 10 minutes to increase my 7-intro from 70mph to 88mph - just by changing the arm technique to use the right arm instead of leaving it tucked in close. Some swings were reaching 99mph but felt too uncontrollable.
As for scores - I consider that totally irrelevant at the moment. I'm concentrating on increasing swing speed coupled with as much accuracy as is reasonable. At that point, to increase accuracy further I can reduce SS a little. For what it's worth in my game last week I shot 18 over, dropping 12 shots on the short game (short chips and pitches turning birdie opportunities to bogeys). For now, I just want to groove a powerful swing.
I know this whole approach may be backwards to current teaching methods. But I don't want to spend the remainder of my golfing days poking the ball 230 yards up the fairway.
