Stupid Question Time brolly with trolley

Last outing guess what it was raining and i used my brolley with my Motocaddy using the Motocaddy brolley holder.

As i am 6ft tall i have to angle it forward slightly so i can stand under it but i then cannot see where i am walking !

So what is the answer for you tall golfers with trolleys with brolley holders ?


In the end i removed the brolley and held it as normal !

Motocaddy do a brolly holder extension now, and also a brolly with clear view panel.

I too have the exact same problem but powakaddy instead my dad has a extendable powakaddy umbrella that extends around 6-9 I ch I I'll be buying one of those

Orange and black callaway square brolly is long so good for taller golfers. Trouble is, the canopy is so big that the slightest breath of wind means that your trolley takes off like a sand yacht or just blows over!

I constantly struggle with my brolly holder sliding round which is a pain!

Any tips as it just doesn't matter how tight I do it, it starts to slide!

As far as I'm concerned, a brolly is a waste of time unless there is no wind. Last Friday I used mine to great effect as it was still and the rain was coming straight down. If I had my brolly on a holder, it would have to be so high that any breeze and the rain would come in underneath or I'd have to spend time adjusting the angle...

Bob - woudl that be legal under rules of golf ? I.e. when playing a shot/putting ?

If I am trolley ing, then I carry my umbrella, and park it in the holder when I stop. The way it sways about in the holder makes me think it will snap off at any minute, and I can't see where I am going.

This is what I do too. I use the holder to protect my clubs whilst taking a shot, and hold it over myself and bag when walking. Not rocket science.

Thanks for the tips, some obvious i know

It does question the suitability of the brolley holders in particular if you are average to tall in height

on a windy day i could see the bracket snapping or trolley moving off

having the brolly attached to the trolley is more bother than its worth,i use a cover on my bag and a big hat!!,it always makes me chuckle when i see the brolly up on a sunny day to give a bit of shade!!!!!! same again sun screen and a big hat!!
