Stand bag recommendations

Hoofer lite is 2.2 kg. Two thirds of the weight of the Vessel.

Hoofer Lite is 5lbs, as is Vessel Air and most of the other range sit around 6.5lbs.

I got rid of my Ping, as the Vessel were a better bag and my heaviest is a touch lighter, so couldn't tell the difference, with better carry straps etc.

If you want light, it wouldn't be the Ping for me - many other choices, Sun Mountain being an excellent choice if weight is your main requirement.

Ping Hoofer Lite. I had a Vessel Sunday bag which I loved the look of but simply not as practical as the Ping. The rain hood on the Vessel is bulky whereas the Ping hides away in its own integrated compartment. Simple but genius.

Hoofer Lite rain hood is a revelation I can't work out why not copied by everyone!

Vessel make the hoods in the same synthetic leather as the bag, so are daft and bulky. I carry a nylon one from another bag because of this, but not playing in the rain is my answer 😊

According to your profile you live in North West UK, if you don't play in the rain How often do you play? About once a year? ;)

It's been pretty good recently to be honest. Cold, windy, but rain has stayed away - climate change favours the golfer.

I'll take a sprinkle, but was at a corporate event on Tuesday at Worsley, with a bunch of made up handicaps and no buggies. Hammered it down as about to tee off on the 4th and that was enough. See ya!

Hoofer Lite seems to get the majority of the votes. Tho I do like the look of the StaDry better, and it’s lighter. Hoofer isn’t waterproof either. It’s not a deal breaker but some form of weather protection would be beneficial for the great Scottish weather.
Finding it really hard to decide. No single one that ticks all the boxes.

I used to live down that way but am now in the West of Scotland where it's even wetter, still I'm retired now and with decent forecasting can usually pick some dry days but still need the waterproofs too often.

Last week one lad said, "I didn't bring my waterproofs". I just popped up the brolly and went home.

I started golf playing winter league, so I'm not that bad, but no interest in playing with a 100% rain forecast.

i have both. Hoofer lite is nicer to carry and legs don’t annoy me. Will swap back to the stadry when using a push trolley over the winter.

Paid less in total for both than one Vessel. 😜

It’s not all about money mate. I’d rather have one I want and like than two I don’t.

Hoofer is a cracking bag. Gave mine away.

Must nice having a bag for every occasion!
I’ve only ever owned 1 which was £15 off gumtree. Want a decent one that ticks all the boxes that’ll do for all weathers.
Ill have to get to a decent golf store to have a better look at them.

I bought this one off Ebay for £27 including postage and it has lasted two winters so far and looks like it will do several more.

Since then I have acquired a very nice Sun Mountain stand bag (as-new condition) for better than £zero having sold some of the contents.

I think those two will see me out.

Just checked them out. From £429. They look heavy.
And then they have the nerve to try and get you to spend another £90 on a stand thing to 'organise and protect' your clubs! All that money on a bag and it doesn't organise and protect your clubs? Bloody cheek!

Time to resurrect this thread. I’m looking for a waterproof stand bag.

It’s got to have decent sized pockets to fit in waterproofs, etc, so I’m ruling out all the super light bags. In theory the Big Max Aqua Hybrid ticks all my boxes, but having gone through a couple of these I’ve realised they are cart bags with legs attached, too many design flaws when used for carrying.

Last few years I’ve had a couple of big max aqua bags, a stromberg, and a benross. 4 bags in 6 years, most have failed while still in warranty. Buying cheaper bags seems a false economy so I’m prepared to spend more on a better quality product this time.

Any views on the Titleist Stadry 5 or Ogio All Elements? Any other suggestions most welcome. Thanks

I still love my Motocaddy Hydroflex, but it is starting to show a bit of wear now. I think the only bags I'd consider moving to, based on unanimous decent reviews, would be a Titleist Stadry or a Ping Hoofer of some description.

Lots of love for the Ping Hoofer, but it's not waterproof, and the Monsoon doesn't seem to have much storage space.
