Hi all

Looking at a new stand bag

Looking for a light weight all year round solution

Thinking about

Callaway par 3 hd pencil bag. Waterproof but could be too small

Sun Mountain 2.5+which looks to be the lightest practical bag but I am concerned about weather it is water resistant enough

Ping Hoofer Lite - looks to be water resistant and seems go to option for lots

Sun Mountain H2NO lite speed. Would be the waterproof option but not sure I need full waterproof and maybe a little heavier

Any recommendations from anyone?

We’ve just bought a couple of Callaway Hyperlite zero, mainly for taking on holiday. They came well recommended but haven’t used them enough to give a thorough review but they are big enough for us and very light.

Also look at Big Max, aqua 7 and aqua 8 (the 7 being the smaller)
I can get 14 clubs in the 7 but I think its best/easier to use with a max of 12 clubs so i've just ordered an 8

Ping Moonlander. Lighter and smaller than the hoofer lite but still includes stand and rain cover. I got one recently and it’s great

Thank you for all the responses

Has anybody used the Motocaddy Solo bag? Or have any thoughts on this?

I have a Ping Hoofer Monsoon.
It's waterproof, robust and very well designed. I think it's only 250g heavier than the Hoofer Lite.
After about 4 years of regular use nothing has broken or worn out.

Never had one so opinion probably not worth much here but I think motocaddy/powakaddy do good cart bags for their trolleys, couple of friends have them, I think stand/carry bags you’d be better spending your money on the likes of a ping, titleist or the likes recommended

Bags to me are soooooo personal and don't think a pound in weight makes any difference whatsoever.

The people who stuff loads into super light bags makes me laugh.

I thought the Ping Hoofer Lite to be functional, but not particularly light and oh so boring.

I love a heavy Vessel ( a whole pound more than the Ping).

I have a callaway hyper light they are doing them in waterproof now. They have the stubby short legs ( I wish this was on the ping moonlight bag !
I get around 12 clubs in when I want everything. It’s worn well, no zipper failures or holes .. mine isn’t waterproof though.

I really liked this bag, prob with these silly lightweight bags is the base is so slim they don’t tend to like fat putter grips and I’ve found them even worse with the lab press grips

I’ve got an aquaflex hybrid stand bag from motocaddy and if it’s anything like that it will be awesome!

Mines 4 or 5 years old, still fully waterproof and the zips still work great which is normally a problem point with waterproof bags.

I only have one negative, the colour ways from motocaddy are boring!

Yeah it’s a bit tight .. I have the std square 2 square grip. I am looking at popping a fat one on the driver and that might be a problem

One of the greatest ever sort of light, small stand bags was when Ping were at their best, all the US college bags etc were hoofer 2,3, Xtreme’s etc, they brought out one called the K56 hoofer, it was brilliant. Smaller than the rest but just cracking to carry. A right sort of flat base that made it sit perfect. I had it in all black and used it for about 10 years. It was like a death in the family binning it.
They still crop up on eBay every now and then but usually in poor nick given they’re probably 20 year old now

I am a huge fan of the lightweight Titleist bags. Like the one I game: Titleist premium carry pencil bag - but it has the short stand legs, and no rain cover. And a full set of 14 clubs would be a bit of a squeeze. For your needs I'd look at the Titleist Players 4 StaDry bag.

Great choice, I am pretty confident you won't regret it. My 9 yr old daughter just remarked last week: that's a very fancy golf bag you have dad!

I went for the Titleist Players 4 Carbon in the end. Looks good quality and super light. Plus liked the style
You won’t regret it at all. I have one in Indigo and the Mrs has the Eucalyptus. Bloody lovely colours, ridiculously lightweight, takes 14 clubs, plenty of pocket space and so comfortable to carry.

We were at the range last night and a kid commented of how sexy my wife’s bag was 🤣
