I remember speaking to David Howell back then who had played County Golf with a couple of my mates ... he said that there was a combination of it being tough, May was too early to go there....so the pros didn't like it much...and the people behind The Oxfordshire putting up a pile of cash...

Thats another story in its self The oxfordshire,apparently it was supposed to be a very expensive members only club that basically didnt happen and nearly went bust.Watched Monty win the B&H there in 99,it also looked like a tough course,one thing I remember about that tournament was the B&H people handing out cigarettes,how times have changed .

Shame the Omega masters or the Rolex series don't do the same thing really...
