Looking forward to playing St Annes Old Links on Monday, looks a good course and hopfully the weather will not turn, and end up like the desert in Arizona at the minute!!

Anyone had the chance to play here? Any tips other than wear thermals!!

Yes Played there a few times Nice old fashion club house and a traditional links course which is some way from the sea. If the wind is blowing it will be a real test if not it will still be a test. :)

Cracking track and up there with any of the best links ive had the pleasure of playing.

Cracking par 3 9th, long green surrounded by high mounds.

I'm tinkering with playing in this too, will need to see nearer the date though with work commitments in the area.

I fancy it too but cant commit until closer to the time as well. If i can play i will give you a shout closer to the time to see if you fancy it? Im sure last year it didnt fill up until the week before so there should be spaces left.

Nice course. Friendly folk in the clubhouse.

Not all that far from the sea really.

Conversation on 13 and 16 can be difficult if the airport is busy!

My 8.5* Driver w over-stiff shaft worked a treat!

Played their last year in storm force winds and rain! We were the only group to finish and at that time most of the course was flooded!

Lovely course, very old school. Get to see planes take off too!

Played in the Ladies Open lasy year, it was the same day that play at the British Ladies Open at Hoylake got cancelled, it was blowing a gale, I found it pretty tough, enjoyed it though. I concur that the ninth is a nice par 3

Ive always had a soft spot for St Annes. Not just a good course, an enjoyable one too.
it would be good to sort a mini meet there, it's currently £42 on Sundays if anyone fancied it..

Play this course regularly as i live in blackpool and play handicap games against them.If you like links golf you'll probably like it,not all that brilliant, west lancs ,formby, hillside different class IMO.One thing that is magnificent is the greens absolutly supurb always in good condition, just pray for a fine day.

lovely course and clubhouse
greens were very fast first time i played them and very true
2nd and 3rd times they were fast but not as fast as first time

Played in last year and enjoyed it. Superb greens, no real gorse or heather to worry about but plenty of bunkers to be avoided off the tee. I think the par 3 9th is visually a superb hole. Even won some cash so topped off the day!

Birchy/Val - give me a shout if you're playing in it.

Literally just along the road from me and never played it!

£20 seems a bargain

Seems like I have made a good choice, really looking forward to it. hopefully the planes won't be to low, headline could read " Plane downed by Srixon Exocet"
