Bought a sleeve of these yesterday just to try and i was very impressed with them....

Im not sure if it were the balls or a combination of my swing getting better but i was hitting my ironsat least a club longer with them than the recycled ProV1's that i was buying in JJB's.....

Again whether its down to the ball or not but i 2 putted 14 greens had a birdie on one and had 2 3 putts on 2 others...I wont even talk about the 18th....

Also they seemed much straighter and more penetrating in their flight to me....Again whether thats down to my swing, the ball or a combination of both...

They felt lovely and soft off all the clubs and were pretty responsive off the wedges too....
Another thing i found with them is that they are pretty robust and didnt scuff anywhere near what a proV can.

I rarely buy a box of new balls costing 48 euro a dozen but im tempted by these....

Anyone else find a difference with them?

I have never been a fan of recycled balls as the quality has to vary and so distance control must fluctuate. I like the Srixon balls and they don't play a lot different to the Pro V1 and the V1x but at a cheaper (although not by much) price

If you get on with this ball, then you should try the V1x if you haven't already. As they will give faster swings, more distance than the V1 and Z star.

I really like the Srixon's, as they play similar to the Titleist's.
They also stay bright white, where as the Titleist's look grubby after a few holes, even with a good clean.
I'm sure nobody else would be bothered about this but I like my ball to look new & white.

Iv used both the V1x's and the V1's Leaney.....Id still prefer the Srixon after yesterdays round though....And like you said they stay pure white too.....

Out of interest mate, do you prefer the V1 or the V1x?

The X's seemed a little clickier and harder.....But the ProV's seemed softer around the greens....Well thats the way the felt to me anyway :mmm:.....
And the ProV1X's were slightly longer i think too.

....... And the moral of the story

Don't use recycled balls

I use a Pro V1 and admittedly tried the V1x version first.

To be honest I only went with the V1 over the x as it felt better to putt with, I.E softer.

Other than that it was a much of a muchness.

The Srixon VXs have been pretty good for me. I prefer the ProV1x to putt with but the ProV for everything else. And I get lots of barely used VXs from a Senior Tour player I know. Agree about the 'stay-white' too.

I use the Srixon z star xv too, less side spin off the driver, nice ball flight, durable and more than enough grab on the greens.
Sometimes use the normal z stars, similar result except shorter off the driver but a bit more grab on the greens.

The XV is has been my ball of choice for the last year or so, a little lower spin than most of the premium balls but still plenty soft enough on and around the green

Bridgestone's are my number one choice, but the Srixon's are just as good, just depends on the circumstances of what deals have been available recently ;)

Prov1's just can't stay white, they start to 'yellow' as you place it on the first tee:angry:
I'd asked this question to the GM Titleist Q&A session (remember that) but it was ignored yet one of THE biggest gripes about their balls.
For that reason I moved to Bridgestone and find them excellent balls.

Got a couple of these in my odds bag so may give them a whirl. Been using the prov1x and really like them which I really didn't want to do as they cost an arm and a leg!
