Mmmmm the only things I watch on Sky Sports are the cricket and the majors in golf. I know it's only the Ashes played in Oz up to yet, but I think I am rapidly approaching the point where I can not justify paying what I do for Sky Sports based on how much sport I watch. Also the BBC have lost the Olympics rights from 2022 which I know is a long way off, but Eurosport have got those now.

Can't help thinking that very soon a lot of people will just not bother paying so much to watch sport, and you will end up with a relatively small but more affluent section of society being the only people who can afford to watch top level sport. Which can't do the sports many favours in the long run. But then again that is assuming the people that run these sports have the long term health of their sports as a priority. And not just feathering their own nests or making as much money for those that play it (plus associated hangers on) at the elite level as possible. As god forbid that would ever happen.

Vdubt25 is usually a good option.
There's something called Wookie for Kodi which installs all the latest addons, you need to keep updating it but it's very good. There's guides on t' net which show you how to install it.
Thanks I'll have a look later on.

Believe part of the deal is they have to make them available to a 'free to air' channel...
Quite likely to be the beeb here in the UK...

The only difference really will be the BBC won't be able to call themselves "Home of the Olympics"

The way they are going they won't be able to call themselves home of any sport

Believe that is more or less the message they are being given by those that hold the purse strings...

They are though, showing a bit of a medley of what might be described as minority sports...
Really enjoyed their recent coverage of the world BMX championships...

I ditched Sky sports when the Premiership rugby went to BT. I now get more than enough sport through that and I can always buy a weeks Now TV pass if there is anything I desperately want to see on Sky. All it means is that I now go to the pub for England or Tigers matches on Sky and I stick to TMS for the cricket (though not sure about that long term as Aggers was droppping hints on Twitter that the cost and competition for the rights could put that in danger).

Unfortunately Sky are becoming a victim of their own success. They ploughed a lonely furrow to start with but managed to get a good coverage of a variety of sports, obviously using the big football events as their flagship events. Now the new boys on the block are picking off the flagship events for serious sums of money. Hope this doesn't go like OnDigital or Satanta both did in the past. I really don't see how BT can fund their current extravagant buying power. I've just dropped BT after a free spell as part of my phone & broadband package. Not going to start paying for things I don't actually watch all that often. The next few years are going to be very interesting to see what else is snapped up by the new boys.

You'd hope so. But as I assume Eurosport rely on advertisers (can you actually subscribe to Eurosport on it's own if you wanted to in the UK?) then not sure how that will work with the advert free BBC.

Although having said that, by 2022 the Tories would have probably at the very least sold the BBC to Murdoch, or even shut it down for being Lenin supporting pinko communists. Just because they don't rebroadcast their right wing propaganda without questioning it like a lot of the printed media do.;)

Well, the Beeb will have to hand over a few quids as a contribution to Eurosport to be UK broadcaster...

As for second para believe there may well be some truth in your tongue in cheek view...

After Murdoch last visited Osborne 600M+ costs were transferred to the Beeb...

I have my phone broadband and TV through talktalk. They have the sky sports package as part of their TV boosts meaning you can take it on a month to month basis and you can cancel after the month is up. They often have deals too. I currently get the sports package for £6 a month for 6 months.

I think with all providers there are lots of deals to be had if you swap to them. But once they have you the deals become a little more scarce to say the least.

I'm considering migrating to Talk Talk, didn't realise they did TV though.
What's their b/band reliability like & what's their customer services like?
Thanks.

I have had no issues with service or reliability and they have the fastest speed in my area. Personally I have never had to call their customer service centres but they are rated as one of the worst for customer service. The TV system they use is called Youview.

I'm a BT broadband customer but just told them to stuff the CL. I saw some if the PL match Manure v Everton and the non HD was crap. I'm not willing to pay them £10 per month to watch it and for the HD. Showing PL in lower definition is like having your windows cleaned and being charged extra to have then wiped so you can see through them - how can they not give you the best picture they have??

BT Sport is operating as a significant loss leader. BT had no plans whatsoever to move into TV until Sky decided to steal millions of customers off them with their phone and broadband offerings - BT had to respond in what was their highest margin business. They don't plan on making money from Sport anytime soon.
