Sometimes it's not so easy being honest

What an odd thread

Other than coming across as holier than thou I'm not entirely sure what it is about.

It isn't difficult to be honest, happened to me at the coffee shop this morning and does do regularly. Simply recognise the mistake, hand back the excess change and get on with the day without either a) looking for some sort of validation of how good a person I am or b) inferring that anyone who doesn't comment is some sort of undesirable or not as "spiritually fit" as you obviously are.

What is difficult about that?!

Ermmmm. Sharing something that happened that was unusual. You are given too much change, you hand it back, they say thank you, you move on. Normal. You are given too much change, you try to hand it back, they say no, you have to persuade someone to take it. Different. I didn't read anything on here that was holier than thou.

Forums are full of threads that are quirky, based on observations of every day life. If you don't like the thread then don't read it, don't contribute. Not tricky.

And please cut out the holier than thou rubbish - that's not what I'm saying and that's not what I'm pretending to be - I just couldn't get the guy to take the money back. And as it happens we all do this sort of stuff when playing - admitting to things we needn't have - is that holier than thou?

And there is a very big difference between maintaining 'spiritual fitness/wellbeing' and having a 'holier than thou' attitude.

Blimey - sometimes it's tough being honest - but it keeps me spiritually fit. I'm guessing many if not most folk would just walk off with the £2 feeling a little smug and maybe not guilty at all. So tell me I am wrong please dear golfing community - honest citizens that we all are

I can't quote posts for some reason, the attached is the last paragraph from your OP where the bit in bold you are assuming or "guessing" most people would not be honest and hand back the change are you not?

Thereby, based on your first sentence, infers they are not as "spiritually fit" as you does it not?

Not at all. How the individual maintains their own spiritual wellbeing is entirely up to them - I do it quite simply by little things like I have described. And that is why I tried to give the money back and I explained why.
