Socks

Had normal black socks on yesterday & tried football socks today but my toes still have'nt thawed out, can any recommend a decent pair for winter, I dont fancy paying 18 quid out for an Under Armour pair

I wear Heat Holder Thermal socks in my work boots. They are 2.3 tog rated. Keep my feet hot without being roasted and they are not heavy or itchy.

Toolstation do thermal socks for about £4.00, nice and toasty without adding too much bulk and making your shoes tight.

I rarely have an issue with cold toes and use FJ socks. Not sure if that means I've decent circulation or it is due to the tropicality of Berkshire

You say you don't fancy paying big bucks. I have to say that I have used Sealskinz gloves, hats and socks, of all of them the socks are the dogs dangly bits. They are available in different lengths and thiknesses.

As well as being warm, they are waterproof and a for the money you pay against the amount of times you wear them the money is well worth it.

Aside of that I agree with the FJ socks, but in the ice not a patch on Sealskinz. Whatever you do shop around though.
