The post about slow play and handicaps which seems to start with putting the blame on society members who are perceived not to be 'real' golfers without official handicaps has me a bit annoyed.
I am on the committee of a society with over 60 members who have about 9 meets a year. We use a lot of local courses in the south west and get 25-30 people out for each meet. Of the 60+ members, over 70% are also members of clubs and have official handicaps.
is this representative of societies out there, or do the majority of societies actually consist of hackers that barely know which end of the club to hold?
