• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

So you've fuelled your time machine......

I'd go back to the last ryder cup Sunday and put every penny I had on a Europe win.

I'd also love to see in person some of the games between Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen, for some reason I really relate to this era of golf.

Turnberry, 09 Open - Let Tom Watson hole his putt on the 18th avoiding the playoff with Cink. The sporting world was robbed of a genuinely heroic story that afternoon.

Another vote for this from me also.

On a personnal note I would go back to 78 when my old man was in 4 main board comps finals at his club. We took a family holiday in the 2 weeks before the first and when he came back his form had evaporated & he missed out out on all 4. He was gutted and gave it all up and took up marathon running shortly after that. Having only just started playing as a still young teenager I stopped again within a couple of months.

I'd would go back and feign illness or hide the flight tickets so he could keep up the momentum he had going - would have loved to seen him win at least one of them that year.

I'd go back to 1999 and get Ground control at Orlando airport to refuse permission for Payne Stewart's plane to take off.:(
