So who is going Wood shopping today?

All makes sense to me!! How are you finding the 915 in general? impressed?

Distance is about the same as my SLDR, maybe not quite so good into the wind but the jury's still out on that one.
Very impressed with how straight good swings with an off centre contact are.

It's just that the good swings are in short supply at the moment

The black r15 looks nice, but to me since the r11s and onwards the tm 460cc head just doesn't look right behind the ball. I could be tempted by an sldr430. But even then......... It's only tempted

I really do not believe I would hit the driver and fairway any better than the ones I have now. For the first time ever I finally have a 3w that is perfect for me, off the tee or off the deck i can hit it long and straight.

But I've got to go into the golf store to pick up my new shoes, so I will no doubt go in the net and have a shoot off between my SLDR 430 and the R15.

Had a peek at them in AG yesterday..
The white R15 is....well, white - 'nuff said!
The black one looked ok but the shaft is "busy" and the line coming from the TM logo on the crown I found distracting a little.

The Areo-thing was just hideous

TM Aero Burner and Ping G30 standard lengths are both the same at 45.75 inches so if the Aero Burner is too long for you the Ping G30 will be too.

Also such a think as a hacksaw that can be brought into play as part of the fitting spec. My driver is 3/4 inch shorter than standard just because I valued accuracy over total distance. (I know, stupid thing to say these days and on the 'forum' but there it is, I'm 'out' now:eek:)

Amen brother. A hacksaw will be taken to mine this week, lopping an inch off

Nike VR Pro LE is a great sounding driver imo, hot off the face too.
I picked up an SLDR off eBay, used it a couple of days ago and it's good so far. I do have an rpm issue, usually find my pitch mark within 2ft of the ball off the tee but having used the SLDR I actually saw the ball bouncing down the wet fairways.
I have #lofteddown though... As it was just a friendly round and I was experimenting I set it at 7.5* to see what happened. Seemed to get a very penetrating flight even into wind, where I'd normally be ballooning up in the air. Even off centred strikes were good... It was on 18 where I tried giving it the beans it resulted in a huge snap hook.

Temped to go hit the R15 now.

thats interesting- on wet fairways my drives actually spin back a foot after landing, so I know if I get the right launch and spin driver I'll gain distance.
