So who is going Wood shopping today?

LOL i wouldnt expect you would see a worthy enough improvement from the SLDR to the newer ones, well not one thats worth shelling out for a yard or two!

Sorely tempted to go and try them, but resisting. Lessons will improve my game, not new shiny stuff!!!

Temptation is the root of all evil.....

But as you have now openly stated lessons is your route no point going to test RSi or r15 :D

R15 looks decent, only TM driver I've seen that has me even a bit interested.

But it'll be the titleist 915 if anything for me. Trying to stick with my g25 though, nowt wrong with it!

Pretty sure that dispersion is not a thing when buying clubs.... that on you... or maybe a tiny bit of help from shaft torque... maybe.

Def like the look and sound of the R15. Fitting booked. I'll try the aeroburner and re-look at the Titleist 915 but the sound and figures it produces put me off, shame as I wanted one.

Anyone who says they wont try any driver just because it's made by 'X' company is mistaken.

I have the 915F and its a great club but to me it sounds crap... That said every time I hit it a friend of mine says how solid it sounds... from where I am standing it sounds like I missed the ball..

Is the driver the same, muted, or is it loud and brash?

I found the 915 3 wood sound very good and much better than the Driver (it was the small headed 3W whatever that is called?)
The driver sound is a muffled clunk in my ears, nothing like I would expect to hear and makes me feel like I mis-hit it. It was in a bay with the Titleist fitter so maybe in an open area it would improve.

Some say sound doesnt matter if you are splitting fairways, but to me (who plays for enjoyment) it does.

I think it matters. I think you can get used to a thing but with the 3 wood even though I am hitting it well I am not getting lovely feeling(sound) from it.

Nice looking clubs, sets up well. Didnt try it though as am in work stuff.

I'm fast coming to the conclusion that the 'poor' sound of a lot of modern drivers is a result of the technology behind making them better (allegedly) than the previous models.

Also the relatively poor feel on the 915D. It's harder to tell how well you've hit the ball, but we want the ball to go as well on off centre strikes so the fact that the club reacts similarly on off centre strikes to striped ones can only be a good thing for where the ball ends up n'est pas?
The technology reduces twisting on heel and toe strikes, so if the club doesn't twist it WILL feel the same as a good hit.
If we can tell it's a bad strike, then so can the ball!

That's how I'm justifying it to myself anyway. ;)

I have a few drivers and the best sounding one is the 11 yo callaway BB 460.
