Smoking in public

I'm a fervent anti smoker having never tried one so I'd like to see it banned anywhere where there members of the public and particularly children. I sat at traffic lights this afternoon and both driver and passenger were vaping and I can't believe the amount of vapour/smoke/ substance that billowed from both open windows and that they had both inhaled the stuff into their lungs - that'll be the next killer!

Err, because they immediately sparked up after coming out of maternity ward with newborn and continued to smoke whilst driving with newborn in the car.:eek::sick:
That alone makes them bad parents, end of.:rolleyes:

Why the next killer, 95% safer tgan smoking, recommended by gps, public health England and no end of medical bodies. It is actually saving thousands of lives and should be seen as just that.

It can't be that bad as I rode the cycle Fred Whitton challenge 110 miles, 13000 feet of climbing under 8 hours, I couldn't have done that whilst smoking.

Agree. Ban it in all public places. Even when I'm walking down a narrow pavement and someone in front of me is smoking I can't avoid it, it's awful. Make it so people can smoke in their own homes or designated and signposted smoking areas only.

Knowing what we all know about cigarettes nowadays, I can't understand why anyone would want to do it.

Smoking was recommended back in history. Even if it's only 5% worse than smoking there is still a risk but, if people want to inhale chemical substances just please don't do it so I have to be a secondary smoker

Dont know what Wigan and Paul have in common. But met a lovely couple from Wigan today at bridge over river Kwai.
 
I can't stand any form of smoking or vaping , never even touched one to try it. But walking through Maidstone high street about 10mins again had to walk through a cloud of smoke that was coming from the week the 2 guys were smoking openly walking along.

I'd say not only are we not doing enough to ban smoking in public but we definitely need to do more to reduce the amount of illegal smoking to

95% safer ? So there is a possiblity still of some danger ?

I can see how it has helped a lot of people get away from smoking but I’m sure in about 5/10 years the full dangers of it will surface. But thankfully it’s beinf treated the same as smoking in regards where you can and can’t vape

Danger with everything you do!

It’s not being treated the same as smoking.
PHE wants it used in hospitals. Some clubhouses allow it. An old work place encouraged it as it kept people indoors and not taking smoke breaks. Some Bars and pubs allow it and thrive because of it. It’s not illegal as smoking is.

TPD laws have placed some regulations on it, but synthetic nicotine is on its way, not derived from tobacco.

Maybe so, but at a party I might inhale some once in a blue moon whereas some people inhale it morning, noon and night! I realise it's less harmful that cigarettes but ............ Well let's hope it is harmless

You actually consume most of the contents as it is PG and VG. VG is the liquid in cough medicine.
