Thanks Gary, that's what my pro had me doing in my last lesson - I ended up feeling like I was reaching too much for the ball at contact. One of those things you've got to stick with and practise though. You make a good point about the swing though; i'd take swinging like a complete biff if I could make a consistant contact with the ball and get it roughly where I want it.

Cheers bud.

no probs. you don't need to move it back too much. moving your right heel back about 6 inches or so should help. all the best pal. you don't need to always do this. just until you groove the proper feeling and hitting the ball more consistently.

Interesting figures.... as many people hit the ball all over the place as have just the one 'worst' shot, and we have slightly more hookers than slicers, which I'd have thought is unusual.

My normal shot shape is a draw. I can push it at times when my wrists get a bit tight and hold the face open.

Most people I see are prone to fades/slices so I would be surprised if this did not average out in a poll.

Honestly it could go anywhere. It used to be a slice with woods and be straight with irons, and I have worked so bloody hard to sort it that now it doesn't always slice, it could hook, push, pull, duff, shank, top, air, VTO, spin back off the tee box, ricochet off tee markers & course furniture with any club with more loft than my putter.

we are not the usual bunch of golfers. we are all a little more nuts.

A month ago I could have told you my miss shot, now after this weekend I haven't got a clue again. I hate this stupid game.

Don't slice the ball but my bad shot is a high right fade. I very very rarely hit a pull.
I've rather slice the ball than hook it, a slice is usable, a hook is no good to man nor beast.
