Sky...

Sending our old SkyQ box back and trying to reconnect Sky+ HD box which weve still got
Remember the SKY Q box and standard HD or Freesat boxes use a different LNB in the dish so that will probably need changing.
If you do not want to change the LNB you can by boxes that will work with the existing LNB.

Yup, had to do quick trip to towm for a replacement LNB and all done , up and running :)

What frustrated me when I ditched Sky was that when Sky Q was installed I had a hybrid LNB fitted as I still used the HD box in another room. I thought they had fitted a 1 wideband + 2 standard LNB, I went to switch the cables over and I found two of the holes led to nothing and it was just a 1+1.

BT do BB without a landline
We've just taken on one of such BT (actually EE) BB packages - no LL - Full Fibre 150 Essentials for £34.99/month. They have to come out to install a box - I'm not sure where it goes but a bit of a nuisance as it's at my MiLs house up north midlands so we have to coordinate with us being there.

I ended up in a live chat. I’m currently paying £133 for tv only. They quickly offered £115 and then £100 for 24 months. I wasn’t happy as that’s still high. When they started suggesting altering the package to reduce the cost I requested to be put through to cancellations. Their opening offer was £93 per month for 24 months. The only difference to current subscription was that Netflix would switch to showing ads. I wasn’t keen on that. Before I responded the chat lost connection, came back but then didn’t work. Just as I was making progress… frustrating and nearly a hour wasted. What a palaver. Shouldn’t have to do this dance. I’d done a bit of research and new customers can get my package for around £80 per month.
I tried again today via the live chat and eventually got it sorted. If it was a football analogy, I didn’t quite leave it all out there in the pitch. However I did get a deal for £80. I’m saving £53 per month, with one tweak to my package - I’ve got shot of Sky Kids, which I didn’t know we still had.

The whole caper is a joke. They should reward loyalty. If they can do a ‘deal’ it’s only because people like me have been severely overpaying and getting ripped off.

I also learned that Disney+ although included in the new agreement in not on a contract basis. Which is useful as my wife is near the end of whatever series she’s watching. When that’s done I’ll cancel and it will reduce my monthly bill to £65ish.

Years ago I tried the phone up, threaten to cancel for a cheaper deal thing and the sky guy basically just went no worries see ye later.
Think I gave it a few weeks and had to phone back up tail between my legs to take out the same deal I had.
