Sir Ian Poulter

If just a few yanks showed a tenth of the passion IJP showed this weekend we would have gone down with a day to spare.
They didn't and they don't that's why we were able to pull off the come back of all come backs. My god even LW managed to win a game doesn't that show something?
I think a lordship would suit him better than a knighthood!

He had more passion for the team than the rest put together. Colin is a miserable loner.
I'm interested to hear how you know that re Colin.

It's utter crap by the way.
From what I've seen and heard, they are rather different personalities off the course - with CM being rather 'nice' and IJP being something other than nice. It would appear that his attitude is pretty good for inspiring the team though.

I agree with Dodger on this one, but that chance is long gone.

Do you have to be nice to inspire? We only know what little we see or hear, which for me was fantastic pride and passsion and an attitude that helped inspire a massive comeback. Three days every two years, he was good at 2010 as well as this weekend, hell.....he gets my vote.

I would have no issue with this at all,I have liked Poults for years, nice off the course or not, golf needs more characters like him.

Monty is miserable on the course, it's always been a strain for him to force a smile. I dont doubt his passion for the game and that he is quite a 'nice' person but he is no IJP when it comes to passion and spirit.

I'm sorry but Poulter is not a candidate for a knight of th realm IMO. Great Ryder cup player but an average golfer on the world stage.

It's not particularly about how well he plays golf week in week out - it's about how he shows such passion for his country and his continent. The Ryder Cup is the only place a golfer of Ian Poulter's caliber can play as a team, and in the Ryder Cups he has played in he's shown what a fantastic team player he really is. You see footballers and other 'team' players get rewards galore for being part of a team, even though they're not top goalscorer or had the most runs or whatever - Ian Poulter, IMO, gave Europe that glimmer of hope they needed at the end of Saturday to take their heads high into Sunday. He played the best team sport he could as a golfer!

And he also had a 100% record so, that goes for him too. Get him in front of the Queen ASAP.
