I've read today that Bobby Robson is again seriously ill and his doctors have told him he won't be with us much longer. Sad news. I think Bobby is an excellent guy and will be missed.

He is a man who has the respect of almost every player and manager in the game. I love listening to Alan Brazil when he talks about "the boss". He is a true gent and one of the few who thank god for what he has.

The day he finally shuffles off to the big golf course in the sky, putter under arm, will be a day where I will feel like I have lost one of my own.

Make no mistake, to all Toon fans, the man is just about a deity.

Fight hard Bobby and don't go gentle into that good night.

The biggest single factor in the demise of our national team was when those faceless B@$£@&$$ at the FA didn't renew his contract after he got us to a world cup semi final.
He is revered throughout the land, regardless of the colours that you wear. A true gent and the last of the old school.
I read months ago that the cancer had returned and it will be a sad day when he passes but lets hope there is still some mileage laft in him.

I was really saddened when he did BBC sports personality last year. It was the first time I had seen him on TV after he was diagnosed. If you looked around the audience of sports stars they all had huge admiration for Bobby, you could see it in their faces and their reaction to his speech. What a lovely bloke. Not many true gentlemen left (particularly in modern football)

If I had to pin my football colours I would have to say they're the red of Middlesbrough and I don't particularly like anything black and white.

But in the case of Sir Bobby I make an exception. He is an absolute legend.

I hope his final moments are pieceful and comfortable.

He IS English football.

God bless you Bobby.
