Those of you that keep up with X-factor will know all about this. For those that don't.....Simon Cowell chose not to send the John and Edward "act" home and put the vote to the public to decide between them and Lucie.
Needless to say, Lucie went home, these lads live to see another week and the show takes another twist and turn.

So what? you ask.....

Well, I'll tell what. I'm 99% sure the contestants are somehow signed up for a given period so they have to do the X-factor tour and other stuff. This means that the very talented Lucie will be unable to do anything now for ages.

Lucie was a strong contender and although maybe not a "pop" artist in waiting is/was one of the best voices I've heard on this show in all the years. Whatever happens to her, she does deserve to get into the business......but I wonder if this can happen now?........

I have no intention of watching it anymore. I liked it when there was some fair competition, but Simon had the chance to send J&E home and didn't which, given that it is partly a singing competition was a shoddy move.

f.w.i.w once Lloyd and J&E are out of it, I don't care who wins.....the rest are all talented and worthy i.m.o. Lucie should have been in the mix.

I'll phone some people tomorrow and find out if my theory is right.....Lucie IS ready to go (I've already spoken to a couple of writers/producers about her) - either on the stage or in the studio....I bet she's tied in......

I just said the same thing to my 3 daughters, it was wrong plain and simple

Simon kept the twins in for 2 reasons

1) to keep louis happy
2) the boys are getting headlines whereas Lucie isnt

Lucie has more talent than those two wombats put together.

will I watch next week, Im not sure, it has lost a lot of credibility, ,,, not that it had much in the first place

I must admit i am lucky enough not to be forced to watch it but i wish someone would send J&E home because i am fed up of listening to people talking about them. I did youtube them just to see what all the fuss was about and after 20 seconds i realised just how rubbish and annoying they are. Please get rid of them and make the newspapers do some work.

Although I have lost a little respect for Mr Cowell I have to admit that he is a very smart man and the only reason that he didnt get rid of JEDWARD is that they give the show more headlines than any of the other acts. In his own way he is only trying to keep the hype and interest in the show, all be it for the wrong reasons. Lets face it, without JEDWARD there isnt really anyone else on the show who is going to keep the viewing figures up. There are some good singers still left in but that is all they are.

I wasn't a huge fan to start with but would dip in and out when HID watches. I saw Simon moan last week that it was suppose to be a singing contest when the two boys were kept in. Lucie produced a great performance in the sing off as opposed to the boys just running around. If he was a man of his word he should have voted for the best singer and got rid of the twins.

I think Lucie has a good voice but never came across as commercial enough but she'll do ok in the UK tour she is probably tied into and then slip back into obscurity.

I think its a farce now. Its clear that the finalists have more or less been decided and that the twins are being kept in until the semis to keep interest in the media and viewing figures up. It is no longer a fair fight and as such the format is flawed. It should be similar to Strictly where judges vote per performer and make up half the marks and take some of the power away from the public. It would at least give singers a better chance. Even Rachel last week is a better singer than the twins

Cowell is looking to weaken the oppo and to do that you keep the weak so bye bye Lucie, he is also saying that the public vote for who they want to keep but what that means is that he is keeping the gob shoits because they bring in more money from the phone vote which will inevitably find its way into HIS bank account.

The whole idea from this program is to exploit a novice act and the gullable public and by giving them their 15 seconds of fame they sign there lives away.

Who is going to be rich this time next year .... Cowell.

Jedward cannot sing.

They jump around like morons on speed.

They have gravity defying hair.

I doubt very much if they could write a song.

I, for one, will not be buying their debut album.

Its not the first time in the shows history that Cowell has got rid of talent that could rival his own acts.

I just don't think this year that any of the acts are great, in fact its prob the worst year for acts overall.

Simon Cowell has made most of his money on "speciality" records, the ones no one else would dare to bring out such as The power rangers, Mr Blobby and that kind of thing. He knows he can make more money for less outlay from those twins. People will buy the one off album/single and he will put another couple of million into his pocket, they on the other hand will get a few quid on a cast iron contract and fade into obscurity in a year or so. Anyone know what the last lot of so called stars are doing now? Andy Abrams was at a Thomson Gold hotel last year in Menorca, some star eh!

Well said,you hit the nail on the head, its time the public seen through this way of making money for the judges. I pitty anyone who takes the time to vote for such programmes like this. Guess what? I'm a Celeb get me out of here, is comming to our screens very soon. It's a shame that TV companies have lost the will to write any good shows.
It's all down to money and getting the public to vote.

Does anyone seriously think that the acts in the final two really represent the phone vote?

I too thought Lucie was one of the best singers they've had in the show, certainly better than last years karaoke queen.

As if to add insult to injury the judges put the blame on the public for not spending enough money voting for Lucy. The only person who will be more successful and still around in 5 years will be Cowell and it all thanks to exploiting the vulnerable people in society.

Poor Lucy was awesome, as mad said, its a tactical vote to weaken the only person who could threaten Olly. Well thats my opinion.

Lol, the show obviously ISNT a fix. Why on earth would they risk fixing a show after the ITV scandal previously? I don't think Simon Cowell's integrity would allow it to be fixed.

In my mind, the single reason that SC voted Jedward was not to keep Louis happy, or to weaken the opposition. It would have been to keep people coming back for more.

XFactor had it's highest EVER ratings last week. As a producer as well as a judge, that is music to SC's ears (excuse the pun) A big reason for this ratings boost is because people want to tune in, cringe and laugh at the twins.

SC will slate them week in and week out and moan that it's a popularity contest because it creates headlines and controversy that they're still in the competition, but deep down he will want them to go as far as they can. x

I agree, it's all done for ratings, and money.

What i disagree with is they spend weeks scouring (;-0)the country for talent, you get all these hard luck stories with people dying, then boot camp where two or three potential talents fall at the last.

THEN THESE TWO IRISH FUDS WITH "THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY" HAIR POP UP, CAN'T SING OR DANCE BUT BOY CAN THEY INFURIATE!

I think they are both wonderful artsists and I am waiting for there debut album with baited breath.......Come on fellas,the best deserve to win and Jedward are far and away the best act left.

The best viewing will be if Jedward and one of Simon's acts are in the bottom 2 next week, and the girls vote Simon's act out.

I also don't think it's coincidence that both Rachel and Lucie acted a bit like Stacey (purposely imo) in the interview after their performances, and then appeared in the bottom 2.

I really like Stacey, but it looks cringeworthy when others try to act like her, in what looks like an effort to gain popularity.
Of course I might be wrong and her personality is just rubbing off on others.
