I'm not jealous in the slightest. Annoyed that the country is silly enough to follow this musical svengali and not see that everything is about making as much money as possible and if the truth gets in the way then tough.

We can see from the comments on this thread that loads of people watch the show even though they know it's flawed on many levels so my question is: Do people watch it because deep down they enjoy it but would never admit to it or, do they watch it because there's nothing else on?
Sorry to steal the thread but I sit next to two blokes at work who openly state that the program is rubbish and that they hate it and yet whenever I mention a particular bit from either the Saturday night or the Sunday night show, just by chance, they've seen it and get involved with the conversation!!

The only act I watch is Jamie Archer. As a rock fan I love the way he belts the song out and is the only one that consistantly gets the crowd rocking each week. Other than that I'll be watching sport upstairs while HID watches the X Factor or on here seeing how everyone got on in their Saturday matches.
He's never going to win it which is a shame but I think he'll have a decent future. Maybe not a star but better than playing a few old pubs

I can honestly say I've never watched a show all the way through. I've tried for about 5 minutes and then I have to run, screaming, to a darkened room for a rub down with a damp copy of the Radio Times.....

On iPhone and definitely do not have the patience to type a long post out. Just a quick comment to say that Cowell left it to the public vote in a competition where the winner is decided by the public.

So why do the judges get a vote then? Lets just leave it ALL to public voting and that way there will be NO confusion. This is a singing contest and those two are diabolical.

I'm not sure if this is correct, but when it gets to the final - I don't think the judges do have a vote?
Even if the live shows were purely down to public votes, jedward still wouldn't be out now, so I'm not sure what the difference would make? x

Because the oringinal idea of the show was that it was a singing contest, and the experts had the vote to stop the public rigging the voting to get a popular, but untalented act through.
Bit like Jedward really. Until the panal rig the result themselves, that is. Noone can pretend that the kids have enough singing talent for the job - they'd be more suited to Britain's Got Talent rather than this one.
How do you know he's never gonna win it if he is the only act you watch?? Surely then you don't know if the rest are rotten or not then.....?
Keep telling yourself you don't watch it Homer and that you sit upstairs watching sport while it's on........we all know though thst ya actually flicking over secretly tho..!

Watched Jamie tonight kick the show off and think after this weekend I'll have no excuse to watch it at all. I can't even get excited about our so called local boy from Reading

Yeh, Jamie wasn't marvellous. Olly was weak and Danyl sang the song about 1/2 an octave down.....

I can honestly say that I have never watched it, have no interest in watching it, and, judging by some of the comments of those on here who do watch it for some unknown reason (or "only selected bits"), haven't missed anything.
I don't watch soaps either.

Well I won't be watching the remainder of the series so who knows what I'll do. I might be brave and try and relegate HID to the upstairs telly and flop on the sofa flicking through the sport

I can't beleive people pay to vote, I bet they are the same ones who turn up on Jezza Kyle.
Unbelievable.....just shows you what a ridiculous programme it is when Afro man gets voted off and that young kid stays on....Lloyd is god awful,I'm not sure his nackers have totally dropped....certainly summits wrong with that dreadful voice!I reckon I sing better with 10 jars inside me on a saturday night in the hen and chickens!!
