Shot shape, what does your course favour ?

Well, I normally make it around with a combination of top&rolls, sky&dies and the occasional hook of death followed by a heroic punch from out under the trees, but I doubt that is what the architect had in mind :D The first five holes all have OOB right, so a slice is definitely not what you want, either. But let's say I could shape the ball to my liking and far enough that it actually matters, then I would go for draw on 8 holes, a fade on 5 and keep it straight for the remaining 5.

Most of the really bad stuff, such as OOB and water, is on the right at our course. Having said that, there is plenty of trouble on the left to worry the players who hook the ball, so straight hitting is best! :)

Never really get this, yes holes might move one way or another. But as long as you can hit your preferred shape consistently then does it matter what the hole "requires"?

Well, playing the 18th at Augusta with a draw isn't exactly going to put you in a good position to reach the green....same with the 11th. But a draw on the 13th is way better than a fade. Same to the 10th..

i would previously have said a draw a couple of years ago, but played a lot with a couple of guys who deliberately try and fade it on holes i would say suites a draw, with good results i might add.

if you are good enough and the hole is well designed, you have options to play a hole in many ways.

As a 9 holer it doesn't have the greatest of variety, but mostly a fade is the way to go (apart from 2 dog-leg lefts)
Sods law as I'm trying to groove a draw - och well !
