Short Memories Quiz

So are you now suggesting that all those Scots who did not bother voting are pro-indy and Remainers?

Even by your standards that would seem to be a pretty outrageous assumption. Or have you again been reading that paragon of balance Wings Over Scotland.

It was a vote that very few people in Scotland wanted, it was obvious that Scotland was a pro European country
All the 32 districts in Scotland voted to remain in Europe. Only 3 or4 Scottish MP's and MSPs voted leave.

My old boss used to say, 'if you really want to understand a problem, turn it on it's head and see what it looks like from the other persons perspective.
Take Scotland and England as individual countries irrespective of populations.
If every single district in England had voted Leave but they had to remain because the Scots vote was greater......would the English have accepted the result.
I don't think so.

And my old boss used to say "don't make assumptions, base it on facts".

Individual countries did not have separate referenda, the UK had one.

As I said a moment ago.....some folk seem to be totally out of touch with the mood in Scotland.

Exactly right. There will almost certainly be another indyref in the next couple of years.

Doesn't mean it's right, doesn't mean there should be, doesn't mean a fragment of truth ever leaves sturgeon's mouth. It's just the reality of the current political climate, I'm afraid.

Until 2020 (next GE) will there be a will on the part of Mrs May's Gov't to pay that much heed to the wishes of Ms Sturgeon and the SNP.

After all the Brexit negotiations will surely occupy much of the time.

P.S. I do not advocate any wishes of the Scottish people being ignored, merely taking a pragmatic view.

They could certainly do without it but will have no choice but to confront it. Ignoring the situation would be disastrous.

Not disastrous to the Conservatives. They barely exist in Scotland so it is not as though they need to placate Scottish MP's to remain in power. MM is right, far bigger issues will take up the govts time in the next few years, no matter how hard NS stamps her foot.

You were rubbing your hands with glee before the referendum saying the Scotland vote would keep England in the EU. Singing a different tune now then.

And ultimately, if Scotland became independent, there is less chance of Labour holding power at Westminster.

This was shown at the last GE following the virtual wipe out of the Labour Party from its traditional stronghold North of the Border.

Personally I am pro-Union but if the Conservatives look at this issue purely from a self interest view they, as a party, can only gain from independence.

Disastrous for the uk, disastrous for Scotland.
