Playing with an American Passenger & his wife, I was asked to hire ladies clubs for her which I did (Taylor made Rocketballz 2 with graphite shafts). During practise at the range she proclaimed they were too short for her. I offered my (Mens) Callaway X20 with Graphite shafts. "Yes they are much better" she said. I happily said I would try the rented Ladies clubs. 1 over par gross for the front 9 holes at Fortrose & rosemarkie, ps I played off 13 at the time. Next Day Castle Stuart, 3 over par gross front 9, But I lost that on one hole, (Found some deep rough once). I was so delighted that as I was playing Royal Dornoch & Elgin over the next 2 days, I asked my pro if i could keep them another 2 days. I played really well again, though my putting & chipping was a bit suss. I would have bought them off the pro but for the fact irons £600 Driver & hybrids £400. You dont need "Ladies Clubs" he said. I took a couple of lessons instead but still dont feel I hit as good as I did with those clubs?
My point is, why are these clubs not available as gentlemens sets? Could be for seniors or juniors maybe? The shafts were very light 45grms (I think) & very flexible. I felt very comfortable with them & could swish them much easier than my own regular shaft?
I have not tried the mens set so maybe I am being biased, but I can assure you I would happily be ridiculed for using Ladies Clubs, IF I continued hitting them so accurately & long!
PS very rich American as he paid for 18 holes both days but only played 9?
Same with some golf balls, lowest compression on a mens ball is 90, I am sure ladies get 80. I would like to try that and see the difference. My swing speed is about 90, but only on a good day? Therefore I assume it would average around 80 - 85

Get senior shafts if you like ladies clubs
I think I will be trialling some very soon! Have asked all family for golf vouchers for my Birthday this week & have been sticking the odd ten/twenty into my account at pro shop when I play. It all adds up, and I don't feel fleeced buying some new gear!!

you must have the smoothest swing in the world!

Dont think so, but I bet I could give Big John Daley a run for his money! I do overswing, but I did not feel that with those clubs! I felt more comfortable & yes it encourages a smoother swing, " In my opinion" a video may say otherwise!

Clubs fitted to an individual can hardly be considered gender specific. Equipment is basically a dumb piece of metal until a person swings it. For the record, quite a few OEM's market equipment in categories like "ladies" or "seniors" simply because are more likely to "fit" the intended target audience, but this is only a general label and not an absolute. Some colour schemes are also employed to appeal to the target audience (pinks and purples for example for ladies) but the last time I checked, colour wasn't gender specific either. In summary, they either work for you or they don't - but you stand a better chance of finding something that does work if you get fitted.

Take a look at Callaway SR range.

The Wilson Staff FG Tours come in around 70 or so.

I can believe it. We had a work night in thr golf lounge and we were doing longest drives etc. 3 of us were all much of a muchness but I couldnt get on with driver they provided. The girls in the office had given up and I had a few shots with the ladies driver.

Shorter shaft, higher loft and I was 20 yards past my best with the guys one. Consistent too, Others tried with no joy and were better with the guys one.

I still dive badly with my current gents driver. Maybe I'll have a nosey on the bay :)

I play with s300 in my irons. But have hit with reg, senior and ladies flex. Can't say I saw much if any difference with any of them.

Are you having problems reversing into a parking place?

If I try my Wife's irons I notice they release very fast and I think it's down to the thinner grips.
