Played in the clubs monthly Stableford comp' yesterday.

To be fair I wasn't expecting much from the competition with the changes I'm in the process of making (Weight transfer and posture) and, to be honest, was expecting a bit of a shocker and the inevitable +.1.

Turns out I ended up playing 7 shots under my handicap and had, possibly, the best round I've had since taking the game up last year.

Now, I'm expecting the inevitable reduction in handicap but how much? CSS is par for the course and I'm a Cat' 3 player, playing off 20 (19.6) I think :D

Does this mean I'll get docked .3 per shot under H/C??

While I'm posting I might as well say thanks to Bob for the pointers regarding my posture. They have made a big difference to my game.

If CSS is unchanged - you should drop 0.3 per shot under par (as you indicated) = 2.1 decrease.

Congratulations!!!!!

Did you win with that score btw?

Not sure John.

I was the second group out on Saturday morning, there will have also been play today so I wont find out until Tuesday/Wednesday when I'm next at the course.

To be honest I'm not too bothered about winning at the minute. Don't get me wrong it would be great if I did, and got my 3rd win of the season, but I'm more concerned about getting my handicap down.

Really!! Ya don't say!!

How exactly does that help with my query :D

Instead of posting pictures of a can of spam hit the notify button please then it can get dealt with quicker.

Think you will get 0.4 for the first shot the 0.3 for the other 6 assuming css stays the same so i think it will be 2.2 but might be wrong.

Wouldn't be overly fussed what the cut was but enjoy the scintilating performance and likely win. I prefer to play well (on the rare occasions it happens) and let the handicap secretary take care of the rest

Sadly it's 0.3 for h/caps 13 to 20 incl.
Still a healthy reduction though :)

Gareth, if you win, you can get that "you know what" with your prize money :D

After the advice you gave Bob and the positive impact it's had on my game, rest assured I will be joining your ever-growing list of clients :D

Homer - Totally agree. I used to get hung up on getting my H/C down and put all sorts of pressure on myself. Now I just go and have fun and, as you say, let the handicap sec' take care of the rest!!
