Scottish Fitba'

Hopefully our finishing is a lot better on Wednesday night.
God that was stressful last night. Played fantastic first half, 3 goals chalked off and a missed penalty. Second half very scrappy, lucky goal near the end and 2 big saves from Kasper got the job done.

Less good news is that it looks pretty certain Kyogo is off to Rennes. He’ll be a big miss, best striker since Larsson, even though he’s not been at his best this season. Talk of Jota coming back, but we really need an out and out striker in.

He wants to go. Am guessing there will be a hefty signing on fee and a bump in wages.

10m for a 30 year old is good business, saying that, I think we earned the guts of that last night with prize money for the win and qualification for the next stage.
I think he is going for a song.
£10m for a player of his ability is nuts IMO.

Well done Celtic…watched highlights and thought…well…it wasn’t going to happen.

The other Weegies tonight…and for a change I don’t just want Rangers to win…I really want them to win 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

He is 30 ,£10mil is a very good deal
Not sure the age is anything but a red herring here. Plenty of examples in the Greatest League in The World of 30+ year olds going for considerably more. Chris Wood springs to mind, not exactly a deadly predator but sold to Newcastle for about £25m when he was 31 I think. JWP, (ok so I think he's 29) but still sold for £20 odd million I think.

I think what you mean more is, he plays in Scotland, £10m is a very good deal... and that's ok, as it's all relative. But not his age being the driver.

The level a player is playing at will also be key indicator for a players price as well yes

Celtic have been making things hard lately with the amount of chances we are passing up. Thought we had blown it big style last night. Another gripe had Engles for first goal, why can't we score penalties?
Disappointed to see Kyogo for the off will leave us woefully short up front for the rest of the season.

surely we will have someone lined up. this has been on the cards since he changed agent in the summer, 1 year into a 4 year deal.

However, i have seen some talk that if Jota comes back, we will go with a front 3 of Kuhn, Maeda and Jota, with Maeda as the main striker. I would love to see Jota back, but Maeda is not an out and out striker and will be wasted thru the middle. if we get Jota, we need to sign a proper striker (not Shankland).

Agree, Maeda would be wasted through the middle. I would like to see Jota back and hopefully he's not lost the magic.

Rennes manager confirms Kyogo signing with them later today.

We were linked with the young lad from Villa. I would expect us to have someone we can get it asap.

At least you get them. 🤣

Penalty taking in the recent cup final was excellent.
