Scottish Fitba'

Close…and great effort…but no cigar. Of course it will be said by some that, of course, Man Utd were playing a team full of 2nd stringers rather than Rangers showing the best of Scottish football can match up with a top English team.

Fabrizio Romano on twitter is saying that Jota is coming back in the Kyogo deal. Based on his tweet looks like a swap of players but Rennes also get a 10% sell on clause with Jota.

Not sure how to feel about it tbh. Is Rodgers planning on playing Maeda through the middle?

Also, what a goal from Dressers last night. Class touch and great finish.

I think Maeda is good enough to play anywhere. His energy would be a pain to deal with as a centre forward.

Don’t think I would be desperate to get Jota back. Achieved nothing since he left.

There is talk of trying to get Mathias Kvistgaarden who we have looked at in the past or Barry from Villa but apparently Villa do not want to sell.

Maeda up top sounds plausible in the interim. Would prefer a firing Idah up top and the young lad Kenny stepping off the bench

Jota went to Saudi Arabia and was deemed to not be registered due to the forein rule they have. Wasted 12 months of his career in the reserves. Get him playing again like he was before at Celtic and we have made £17m profit and a hell of a player back in the side.

Saudi was a great move money-wise (£10m a year wages), but a terrible move career wise.

It's only 18 months since he left, and he is still only 25. He'll be a great signing for us.

Kyogo confirmed to Rennes

Jota confirmed signing from Rennes.

Glad to see Jota back and feel we have got a steal considering what we sold him for. Sad to see Kyogo go. Need to see another striker in the door this window

Kyogo must have been really unhappy for some reason. I think he could and should have got a much better club than Rennes. I don't think his new agent has done anything better for him than I could have.

It will be purely financial. However they are 3rd bottom of Ligue 1, could very easily get relegated.

Apparently it’s to do with the Japan manager, he doesn’t rate the Scottish league….
Is he an international for Japan, can’t think there would be many better strikers about, but I literally know nothing about the Japanese team.

Stuart Kettlewell resigned as Motherwell manager due to abuse his family was getting and they didn’t want to attend games because of it.
They were on a poor run but still 5th in the league.

Getting beat by the bottom team in consecutive matches must be difficult to take. The bottom team is used to such aberrations.

But that is absolutely no excuse for disgraceful and unacceptable behaviour verbally abusing family of the manager…utter morons who think that being a supporter gives them such rights - when they have none.

That's basically my point. I know he'll get more money playing in France, I just find it staggering that was the best option available. If rumours are to be believed he told Celtic six months ago he was wanting a move.

He's never been picked regularly for his national team whilst at Celtic, if it bothered him that much I think he'd have looked for a move years ago.
Ultimately only Kyogo will know his reasons but I suspect he didn't like the way Rodgers was asking him to play.

Is this the same team where Jota has struggled to get a game?
If a team is in a relegation dogfight, it’s pretty common for managers to distrust “luxury” players as their primary objective is not to lose games.

Like Kyogo, he has been badly advised over his choice of clubs. All agents see is dollar signs. His stock is low as a result, hence him coming back to us. The boy is a great talent and Rodgers will get him firing again. Wait and see.
