Scottish Fitba'

That's basically my point. I know he'll get more money playing in France, I just find it staggering that was the best option available. If rumours are to be believed he told Celtic six months ago he was wanting a move.
Money apart, it’s a pretty short sighted move. I suspect he will live to regret it.

Am surprised one of the lesser EPL clubs didn’t go for him. He would have done well at Man Utd or Spurs 😁
You jest but I wonder if somewhere along the line he’s been holding out for big Ange coming in for him, as was so widely assumed when he got the Spurs gig.

His agent whispering sweet Spurs nothings in his ear…

Got to love the BBC's attempt at dramatising Kyogo's departure... "What next for Celtic..."

What next? Well what's next is they will continue to win the league and probably most of the cups year on year as there is no credible competition mainly due to the gulf in financial reach compared to the entirety of the remaining league.

Not that I want to suck the drama out of a clearly pivotal happening at Cellik Park but Jesus on a pedal powered vehicle, it's not exactly difficult to see the road ahead in Scottish football.

Rangers should be more than capable of competing, they've got 50k season ticket holders, and arguably a bigger domestic fan base, yet they have been so badly mismanaged over a number of years. It's no wonder the bears are revolting.

Rangers problems are now such that they are in a chaos loop of financial catch up. Coupled with poor business management and recruitment (as a result of trying to rapidly catch up) it all means that Celtic don't even need to buy the best players, just ones that are good enough to stay one step ahead. And as long as they do that, the loop continues.

Without CCV Celtic defence is greatly diminished.
Trusty and Scales did well together away to Atalanta, but you are right, CCV is a rock.

Some talk Johnston may be rested as a booking would rule him out of the knockout round. I can see the sense in that, but Ralston at RB gives me the fear. Better to take our medicine tonight though I suppose.

Got to have a go and I’m sure they will.

Good luck against the Villa - think Celtic will need it..but you never know…👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Celtic have struggled to beat many Scottish 'diddy' teams this year.
Unsure if that is because they are getting worse or the 'diddy' teams have improved. ;)
I can't see them beating Villa.
Probably best not to confuse "getting worse" with a temporary dip in form that they went through. Do not bank on that being anything other than a dip.

Aye, it's a bit nuts. We've just swapped out a talented 30 year old for a talented 25 year old who will go on to make yet more money for Celtic. It's not like he's an unknown quantity either he was class for the 2 years he was here already. I'm sure Rodgers will get the best out of him and he's probably going to get another move in 2 or 3 years time.

If Rodgers does play Maeda through the middle that front 3 is terrifying for Scottish football.

Bought for £6.5M, sold for £25M then bought again for a reported £8M. Seems like decent business to me, just adds more to the bank balance. Lawwell might need to get a second heated driveway now.

Just heard that Maeda actually got a 2 match ban. He was charged with “Assaulting another player” - ffs, it was a petulant wee kick after being booted all over the park. the guy wouldn't even have felt it.

Means he is banned for the first leg of the knockout tie as well as tonight :(
