Playing boat of garten a few years ago I had two bottles of Goan strength odimos insect repellent in my big tour bag which was stuffed with clothes, gloves, snacks and drinks. Gave myself a good spray before setting off. Played the round thinking “this is good stuff, I can still smell it after 4 hours” turns out the cap came off one of the bottles and covered everything in the bag.....I can still smell it to this day!

A friend of mine years back went across the Channel and filled his car up but thought "Diesele" was French for "petrol".
He then made a second schoolboy error of telling me when he got towed home and asking me not to tell everyone.

I've seen this happen. By the time we got to the edge of the lake his whole trolley and bag were submerged under the water. It's only funny if it happens to someone else

a girl i know who worked for the local paper was asked to do a guide book for the about to open new Inverness Marina, rather than go down and take some pics she just found some on the net.... she didn't realise the was an Inverness in Florida.... and it had a Marina... shame it was spotted befor it went to print there would have been some confused people arriving there

I bought a cheap utility headcover off ebay years ago. We were having a burn out the back so I chucked the jiffy into the incinerator only to realise I hadn't actually taken the cover out of the bag yet! All that was left was a load of melted foam .

I once put petrol in my diesel vehicle. Started off and realised very quickly. Only put in about 2 litres...
Put in 40 off litres of diesel on top of that and carried on. Never noticed it causing an issue. Sold the car about 4 years later
