With Peter Hanson winning today and ensuring his place at the Ryder cup ,Four top drawer team golfers, Casey ,Harrington,Rose and Donald are now waiting on Monty to select his three wild card selections.Who do you think he should leave out ? .
Personally i would like to see them all there in front of Hanson but he is there on merit and current form so i feel i should have faith, i wouldn't like to have to make the decision but i feel Donald is the one to drop ,ok he is a proven winner but i think the others just edge him . A tough call me thinks

Its a genuine toughy although I think Donald will be chopped.
All 4 are proven winners and high up in the World Rankings so any 3 from the 4 would still give us a strong team.
Will they all play in America next week and hope for a pick or will one or 2 all of a sudden be entries at Gleneagles (if they can?).
And with a big paycheque up for grabs a Gleneagles if either Dyson, McGowan, Quiros or E.Molinari win it then they'll probably make the team at the expense of Jiminez unless he has a good tournament.

Now that would give Monty an even bigger headache.

I wouldn't pick Donald. Solid golfer, no question, but has he the fear factor? No. He will always be hitting his second first. He is way too short to worry Bubba, Distin, etc.

Andycap, Hanson is there on merit and i'd have him rather than Donald,Casey or Rose the last 2 who can't be arsed to play European Tour events,so fair play to him ,he needed a win and he did it the guys on form just now.

I would pick Rose as he partners well with Poulter and I would put Casey in as he is a proven winner at matchplay. As for the third, there will be a few regretting not playing in the final qualifying event. I would pick the other Molinari brother, a world cup winning partnership cannot be ignored.

I'd pick Rose too. I'd have Molinari as he and his brother have a proven record playing together. Personally I'd take Harrington as he is a master grinder and that will be key in matchplay. He can shoot whatever as it isn't strokeplay

I really cannot understand all this ''Pick Rose as he partners Poulter well''....all fine and dandy but he's playing like a chopper,he's not going to partner anyone well playing like a ***! :D
In fact it's a shame Poulter has made it as he's been playing like a *** for a while now too. ;)

Don't get all this Rose playing poorly bit. He's not the only one and if I was captain I'd be looking for players who gel. Poulter was chopping before the last RC and finished top points scorer so I'm not sure how much you can read into it. I'd prefer Rose to Donald and Casey.

It has going very quiet on the Westwood front so I hope that means its good news and he is resting and recovering.

Well he said he was going to sit on his backside for 6 weeks to let the calf recover. Only leaves him a couple to get "match-fit" again.

Casey and Donald are abosolute shoo-ins. Monty's not going leave out the world numbers 8 and 9. So it looks like Rose will miss out, which is fair enough as he's made no effort to alter his schedule to play a little more in Europe, so that has left him with the World list only to qualify on (which is a tough ask these days). Casey has only just missed out on qualification and Donald came over to Europe in early summer.

I wonder if Monty would dare reveal his picks now - thus saying to the unlucky one, 'if you want to play, you'd better get on a plane to Scotland now'.

Personally, I want Rose in, I've £20 with Mr Clarke in the office he'd make it. That said, his hot spell has gone cold so I wouldn't pick him on that basis. Would not pick Harrington either. Great top see Hanson in there, nice guy and solid perfomer. Not sure about Casey. He's not been really firing on all cylinders since his injury, but I have a feeling he's on the verge of getting his game back in order.

For me:

Casey
Quiros
Molinari

Mix it up a bit. Quiros is super long and Molinari has tons of bottle. Both would be really good additions.

Rose gets my vote before Casey and Donald everytime. Casey is a gas bag, Donald is a short knock. Rose has bottle and a great golf swing, he's the most likely Englishman to win a major in my opinion.

As for Poulter out of form, he was chopping before Faldo picked him and he was our best performer by miles. I would bank on him being top scorer again because he has that mental belief and attitude.

Harrington is a treble major winner, been there done it. He still has a fear factor about him and the experience.

Molinari would be my third pick. Him and his brother are pretty solid together and I think they'll be a hard combination to beat in both foursomes and fourball format.

It's gonna be interesting on Sunday night and I look forward to seeing who Monty picks.
