Ryder Cup 2025 - All matters

It seems it’s accepted by those in the US that fans in New York act like that in sports events
And they did everything in their power to maintain and amplify their reputation.
Like you inferred previously, the profits or losses of the organisations involved will decide whether the event was a success; not the behaviour of the public attending or the sportsmanship of the players.

They handed over to the organisers to sell tickets, police presence was strong, course was well laid out etc etc.

What can anyone do in respect of the type of attendee?

Not the courses fault.
Understood. Was beer available? If so could they have stopped selling ?

Do they not hand the course over to the PGA for the duration. It's pretty much what happens at The Open each year, except it is the R & A. BethPage are not controlling what happens from the moment of the first practice day (maybe not entirely but not far off)

I will copy on to here becuase of some of the language.

On Facebook Seek out 'Yorkshire Humour - at the Ryder Cup'

Needs watching a few times to catch all the humour

Other Yorkshire Humour stuff is very funny

It depends on who you are meaning when you say “they”

The course/club hands over to the PGA of America to run the event

The behaviour of the fans should have been dealt with quicker and better by the police etc

This was at 09.00

And the issue with that is!!

Beer isn’t the problem , people are the problem. People can be arseholes without beer, for each and everyone that behaves like a knob there is also another who is perfectly fine with beer in them.

The same happened in Paris at the RC I was there people cheered the beer tent opening at 9am and there was very little poor behaviour all week.

Put beer into a decent person they just get happier. Put beer into a dickhead and he becomes a bigger dickhead.

As I say that’s not the fault of the beer idiots are idiots regardless.

So why are there more fights outside bars at closing time than outside B&Q at closing time?
Anyone who thinks beer wasn't a huge factor in what went on is wrong in my opinion

More idiots go to bars than B&Q?

There was no violence at the Ryder Cup as such (one altercation reported), so the comparison used isn't really fair.
