Just a little bit of advice needed please.

I bought my I15’s 18 months ago and have cared for them like the child I never had, I dried them after getting wet and kept them inside in the hall, I wash them every couple of weeks and WD40 them every month or so. The little blighters have started getting rust spots and the 4i has pitting on the shaft also the badges on the backs are all frayed and looking cheap.

I spoke to Ping who advised to drop them at my local pro but has anyone else had this problem? I am now getting to the stage where I am sick of worrying about it and what state they will be in when I next take them out of my bag.

Is this poor quality chrome been used?

I presume you store them somewhere that is not likely to be damp when at home?

If so, I am surprised by the pitting as I have had loads of Ping clubs of all ages and never really looked after them, a quick groove clean now and again - no pitting at all.

Yeah I store them in the hall a couple of feet from a radiator, if they get soaked I take them out of the bag and dry them off and place them next to the radiator to dry off the grips. Really strange, not sure if it’s something I am doing wrong or just unlucky with some irons.

Anyway AG have said I can drop them with them who will send them back to Ping for inspection and hopefully repairs.

Just got home and checked them all and it seems only the 4i is pitting, the others are ok with the exception of 1 or 2 with tiny spot of rust which has been removed but all the back badges have frayed and peeled.

Had mine for 18 months also and they show no signs of rusting or pitting. I certainly havn't cared for mine as well as you have cared for yours either !!!

I'd get your pro to send them back to Ping Parmo. Something doesnt sound right.

Yeah bought them from the local pro but its easier to take to AG and let them send them for me.
