Very impressive from France. They nearly handed a lifeline to Ireland in the second half but just had too much. Anyone beating them are going to have to prevent those pace merchants from getting space and momentum.
Amazed the Irish player got away with the cheap hit at the end. The ref was very generous there.

I only saw the last few minutes of the Scotland game but the conditions looked appalling. Had it been football it would have been called off, standing water.
Great defence in the last few minutes from the Italians. Stood up to a pounding over and over.

That was the thread of the commentators before the match , referring a few times to a ‘top to bottom overhaul’. Whilst I understand the phrase , what does that really mean in terms of actions? Anyone?

My rugby-loving Welsh mate didn't even bother to watch the match yesterday - which says it all as to where they're at and why their trouble is going to get worse. I think they're struggling to fill the stadium for their home 6N games - which of course was always the golden goose that fuelled the whole region.
Shame, as the way Cardiff city centre turns into basically a festival on home match days with the stadium so central as well is one of the best spectator experiences in any sport. They've got the Park+Ride sorted too - they just do everything well.

The "pyramid" that was the conveyor belt of players was broken by regionalisation. Folk from Ponty etc wouldn't ever set foot in Rodney Parade to support a region. Think "regionalising football" and expecting Liverpool fans to sit in Everton's stadium to watch Merseyside Utd!
Then if you follow the goings on at the WRU itself, its a case study in foul-ups.
There's plenty more to add, not for these pages.
I also blame Gareth Bale for making Welsh kids want to play football!
And... has the squirrel tried to get a train out of Central after an international?

Wales will have chances to prove themselves against Scotland and Italy.
But it is a simple pain fact that the current team is not as good as it was 5 or 6 years ago - and no way near as good as the current England, Ireland or France teams.
Someone has to come last. Doing so in a very sporting way is worthy of some appreciation for a sporting effort. Particularly so for the smallest population country.
Wales will have chances to prove themselves against Scotland and Italy.

Is it worse than Twickenham?
The last time I went to Twickers I swore never again. Left in plenty of time yet we were running into the stadium as the anthems were played. Can't recall how long it took us to get a few miles from the stadium after the match but enough to scar me for life.

Did Park and Ride at Cardiff with no issues I can remember - recall there being a whole fleet of buses.
Couple of times I've been to Twickenham I've parked a fair way west of the stadium in a random street and walked without problem. Do the same at Edgbaston every year on Finals Day. Being prepared to walk a little further than 95% of people (e.g. to a distant car park or the not-quite-the-nearest tube station) solves pretty much all these issues and only takes 20 minutes - far more enjoyable minutes than standing in an after-match train/tube scrum. You're generally avoiding the worst of the traffic and overtaking people in cars that parked closer as you walk as well. I know some people wouldn't like not drinking much at rugby/cricket but I'm not too fussed.

I left Cardiff after an autumn international last November. The train set up was brilliantly organised. Everyone separated into routes, you didn't reach the station door unless your train, with room, was in. You may have wanted more trains but the set up was excellent.Is it worse than Twickenham?
