News from twitter coming out of the Honda Classic is that Rory McIlroy was 7 over par for the day coming up the 18th, hit two into the water, walked off the course, got in his car and went home... Crikey...

Hey, who hasn't had a monthly medal like that, but not the 7 over part :)

7 over thru 8 apparently. wowzers.

Not what he needed with all the new club drama.

However, at least people might stop blaming the clubs entirely. Whatever people think about Nike clubs, they're not 'bad enough' to cause Rory to be +7 on their own. I know it sounds stupidly obvious but it's his swing that's off, not the clubs, and hopefully some of the press might cotton on to this now ...

Disgraceful IMO. He is the no1 golfer. You do not do things like this when you are in that position. He needs to get his head together and fast.

As much as I like Rory, it's a bit silly to just walk off the course. WD'ing mid round with no obvious reason other than "I'm playing a bit turd" should incur a big fine from the USGA. If he was injured in some way, then fine, but he obviously isnt.

Before anyone says it, it isn't the equipment that is causing it...he's obviously not swinging it well under the pressure that has been heaped on him. He's trying that little bit too hard and getting it minutely wrong, which at his swing speed is dangrous!! He'll be back...they always are!

That's as bad as Ronan Rafferty having a bad day at the US Open, telling everyone he was going to the toilet and not returning :)

Not only should he be fined but he should miss a couple of events - huffy little blouse

agree hes obviously following the tiger route (ala sawgrass) when things go bad, theyll be some press release with an injured wrist or such. Defo poor form i remember John daly getting pelters for such when he ran out of balls we'll see what is said about this over next couple of days.

He put one in the water and said, sod this for a game of soldiers, I'm off down the pro shop to get myself fitted for some Titleist clubs....

Apparently didn't even bother putting out on the 18th (which was his 9th) apparently. Put one in the water and said, sod this for a game of soldiers, I'm off down the pro shop to get myself fitted for some Titleist clubs....

He should have entered the TM testing day comp!!

And to think that only a few weeks ago he was hitting those balls with Tiger through the clubhouse window into those champagne glasses.

Bad boy!!! not a good look!!! I am a little surprised to be honest, I thought he was made of better stuff.

His swing is very quick over the hips, he relies on his hands to pull the face square this needs good timming
and as a natural swing free of thoughts is is used to have he never got trapped inside, but once things go in his head
its difficult to make it work. Nike and his manager did not handle this well, timing in business is also crucial, this
is a 23yo boy not a machine.
