Good to see McIlroy post an opening round 69 in Malaysia. Here's hoping he wins this week and can put Augusta firmly in the past. I have a feeling that he has attributed the whole thing to hitting that tree on 10th, which was pretty unfortunate. If he has he's a genius. Blaming one bad bit of luck and inexperience to deal with it on that round must make it easier to get over.

Really good performance given the last week including the travel time. Apparently it was the first time he'd played the course, so nice scoring.

True test is the next time he contends in the last 9 of a big tournament, till then we just don't know if he's over the Masters disasters.

Well a 64 second round in Malaysia seems to suggest that Rory is right when he says people are more worried about his collapse at the masters than he is.

2 good rounds doesn't make the Masters capitulation go away.
As Birdieman says, last 9 of the US Open or The Open or even the PGA or some WGC event will tell us more.

However, it looks like he's handling it well.
