Rolling Thread (Rolling Thread)

I honestly didn't realise such a comment would cause an issue ?! It was a genuine suggestion.

^^^ this, this is what people think every single day!!!

Anyhow, that aside and really it was not about the suggestion, it was about the stupid attempt to deny it and than go on a moment later to corroborate it.

How would your wonderful blog rolling thread work? After a few days everyone who has a blog, lets say that 0.05% of the forum have posted their link.... now what? the post makes it way to the bottom of the main page and.... pooofff its gone.. its not really rolling is it? Do people then come along and say "hey, updated my blog" cos that kinda going to get old too when every entry to the thread is just a bump in so many words.

I am going to say that you would do well to post less and actually think for just a very short moment about what it is your actually saying on this forum.

Can we have a rolling thread in which people argue pointlessly and are determined to get the last word?

What's the difference between a rolling thread and a normal thread?

I guess its like a central location for a specific topic. It works well with the "what did you buy today" or "I played today and.." They only really work if they are subscribed to by the body of the forum. Pretty much an unofficial sticky without the actual sticky.

Ummm... you struggling with this concept? The topic is rolling threads... why would you have a rolling thread about a non popular topic... it would not roll...

This did make me laugh though as a forum member pointed out to me the other day that this is your usual patter.... Say something dumb, have someone call you on it and then claim you never said "exactly" that. I had not noticed before and than you came with that exact sp.

:rofl:You've just killed me with laughter Alex

Wow. People, if we think someone's suggestion is a bit rubbish, then say so. Alex1975 , I'm looking at you here. But don't troll and throw insults, just say you don't think it will work and then move on. Otherwise, aren't you being a teensy bit hypocritical when we get to the stage of calling people thick?

Phil, I will say though, I really have no desire whatsoever to see a pinned rolling thread about blogs. :D

I think it's one where instead of starting a new thread on a common topic, you just add to the existing one. Obviously people could use the search function, but they are lazy, and start new ones. So I could post that I have bought a new shaft for my six iron, that no one will read, or I could put it in the rolling what have I bought thread, where no one will read it. Either way, I will be happy because I have posted about my purchase, and every one else will be happy, because they can ignore it.

Quality description ;)

Killjoy :smirk:

Always makes me chuckle at the original apprehension towards JohnnyDee's I played today thread which has turned out to be the most popular thread on here. Getting attacked from all angles for starting too many threads but as they say, throw enough muck and something will stick. First couple of pages are comedy gold:D
