How impressive was that today from RR.

The fairway bunker shot on 14 and the shot to the 16th green that set up two birdies were OUTSTANDING.

And his interview afterwards with Tim Barter showed what a great person he obviously is as well.

You could tell that some of the SKY team thought he would not come through (especially Mark Roe......how poor a commentator is he!), but it was his day.

Does anyone know him through the game on here?

Fantastic days golf.....And i even holled a few Putts as well today.....great all round

Watched it and really enjoyed it. Thought he played very solid throughout, 1 mistake, but some fantastic up an downs and some great birds. Good interview after too, seems like a thoroughly decent chap, hope he can keep going and push forward from this, been following his progress last few years.
Nice to see also that he does what he likes too re clubs etc, titleist bag, tm driver, callaway irons, no cap, class :)

He seems like a really nice fella and I'm glad he's won (see the betting thread)

I didn't realise he had a mixed set, cue an offer to 'brand' him soon!

Played great and seems like a good guy! Very humble!

Outside bet for a Ryder Cup place?

Completely agree with everything said here. Seems a really nice, down to earth guy. Thought it was great yesterday when he was talking about selling Mars Bars watching Tiger win tournaments. Now, he has beaten him.

Love the fact he doesn't wear a cap and his bag full of different equipment. That may change shortly, although not the cap with that head of hair.

Hopefully he can go on to big things.

Hope he gives the rc a good run, solid putter too.
I think I read on hear he won't take a brand, and he won't do the cap as he can't play whilst wearing one. Shame Chris wood didn't try this as it looks like he can't play in a cap either.

thats what i like about golf ,,is world ranking is 117 (i think) its over 100,, just shows if its your week you can win & when the crowd did the rocky tune on the 18th made him smile

can't help but think he looks like Barbie's boyfriend KEN

Local lad so was well chuffed for him today.

He's been a pro at various courses round here but was and still is attached to a small driving range called Swingers (in Lichfield). He's invested some cash now and the place has been extended and refurbed and think there might be a new academy there that bears Rocky's name. I indeed remember him serving in the shop there and striving for a breakthrough. Old man knows him quite well and he's very down to earth, probably didn't take the game serious enough when he first broke through. Enjoyed the social side of things a touch too much. But brilliant to see him now applying himself and looks like he has the confidence and self-belief now to go with the talent.

Top day. It'll still be sinking in for him.

I got fitted for a Driver from the bloke who fits Robert Rock for new clubs, shafts etc. Mike Hawton is his name and he reckons RR is the best putter he's ever seen

Robert Rock was fantastic today and there`s a lesson to be learned by the worlds best golfers.Rock from the start after the introductions totally focused on he`s own game,he didnt look at Woods at all during he`s round, basically he wasnt intimidated whatsoever by Woods and won the golf tournament. In stark contrast Donald and Mcilroy on the first couple of days pared with Woods looked "uncomfortable" playing Him.Woods has been an amazing talent in the golf world and these guys must not let the Tiger Aura intimidate them or it will game over for them like before.

It was good round in a strong field chasing hard on a tough course. You could tell the nerves were jangling on the 18th tee and should have had a few more practise swings to ease up, but sensible recovery and a great putt.
I wonder if he can keep it going as a win like that must give you loads of belief you can do it again.

I Sky+ it and did think about him on the course as I so wanted him to win. Watching it this afternoon I felt so nervous for him as he just seems such a nice guy and that opinion hasn't changed. Thought his interview was charming and who couldn't wish such a guy some reward for all that hard work.

It really did look as if Tiger was a good playing partner and his smile at Robert as he moved to his tap in was broad and, I think, genuine.

Great effort from Rock but a little miffed as I had bets on McIlroy and Woods. I dont see this as a coming of age for Rock, it was just his week. One of the nice guys.

Think RObert had the benefit of some advice in the past from our very own Smiffy and you could see him on the 18th say to his caddy WWSD (what would Smiffy do). He comes across as a nice guy and glad we don't have to endure the caddy lining him up all the time now. He's been consistent over the last few years and good to see him break through. Glad Woods didn't fold and give all the nasayers ammo to have a pop and it should do his confidence the world of good too. As for Rock winning a major. Not for me. RC. Not sure but if he earns his place by right good luck to him. Don't think he'll get a pick though
