realistic targets for 2012

What did I miss?

Took voluntary redunancy, then got offered a new job with the same company but had already moved my life to Cambridge. Now the wife is living there and I am in Hampshire! Only on a short term contract with view to keep me on if needed so cannot commit to any membership

I'd say break 100, then do it regularly so I can get a handicap. This will be my first summer playing so the big thing is to enjoy it.

Wow, lots of hampshire guys on now! I am thinking of helping someone host a hampshire meet at the end of April as my wife is away for 2 weeks. I better get a post up in the organise a game section PDQ!

Can't you pay pro rata? and just fork out a monthly fee... then cancel it if your situation changes? Obviously you'd need somewhere with no joining fee....

If I was to join a club it would be my old one as its the closest, but they do not offer anything at the moment. I wll investigate in a few months when I know more about my job future. For the moment I am happy just going to the range and playing the odd round as a member guest or on public courses.

Hopefully get down to 7/8. Big ask but I think I can do it.. Only been playing one season of competitive golf and am down to 11.1 so fingers crossed. Going to think about some lessons and an added bonus would to win the junior club championship or the junior summer knockout:D
