Morning all,

Those of you who have seen the new-look April issue of the mag will have seen that we're are currently running four short reader reviews each issue.

If any forumers would like to submit anything, all course reviews should be sent directly to me on jezz_ellwood@ipcmedia.com

Each one published wins a small prize, but I'm also offering a special one-off prize of a Nike Method putter (worth £160) for what I consider the be the best/most informative/most entertaining/most 'makes me want to go and play there' review I receive in the next month

Need to know stuff...
1) Reviews should be 125 words max (ie concise and to the point)
2) Reviewers must be able to provide a decent head shot of themselves if published, and must be willing for the review to go in under their real name rather than forum tag
3) We also need to know your home club (if any) and handicap (if any)
4) In light of point 3 I would probably prefer it if the club you review is not your home club

Look forward to the floodgates opening...

** IMPORTANT ADDITION **
Just realised I forgot to say that this is in our UK & Ireland section so I'm not looking for overseas course reviews (before anyone spends hours lovingly crafting eloquent prose about somewhere in Spain or Portugal!)

A Machrihanish review will be winging its way your direction after the forum meet on the 27th of March.

I am also playing Prestwick St Nicholas tomorrow, I may just submit a review from their.

Do I have artistic licence?

I'd like to review Valderrama please.

I'll give you my bank account details - please forward copious funds accordingly.

I'll send you my address - you'll need that for the tickets, etc.

Thanks Jezz, very kind of you.

Atticus,
The feature in the magazine is really intended as a 'courses to recommend' piece. That's not to say we won't run constructive criticism of somewhere if you have something to say (ie long walks from green to tee, greens not as good as others locally at time of visit, par 3s all a similar length so same club on every hole etc etc).
What we won't do is run a piece saying 'this place is a total goat track to be avoided at all costs' - it's not a 'rated and slated' feature as per certain other mags.

That's a shame.
I had 3 or 4 good 'uns lined up
;)

I bet I found a worse one than you, doesn't even qualify for goat track. (actually it is worrying that there are a quite a few 'avoid at all costs' tracks around.)

but to the OP, Ashridge Tuesday so we'll see what that's like.

Do you want reviews of what it's like now, or what it will be like in a few weeks time?

I'm think of a course that I have no ties to, but that I've played several times over the last year, and come spring and summer will no doubt be it's usual fabulous self, and whilst it was still very nice to play recently, it's not a patch on it's full potential ( once the weather dries out a bit )

Does that make sense?
