Just been looking online (whilst passing the working day) at putting mats as I have wood flooring at home and wondered if anyone used them, if so could anyone recommend one as it seems there are so many different ones and the final question being are they any use at all?

I bought one off ebay when the snow came earlier this year Parmo.

Wasn't sure whether I really needed one so bought a fairly cheapo one that cost about £12. It's 6ft long nad has got a smaller than normal hole in it, no fancy ball returns or gizmos.

I used it for about 2 weeks and my stroke felt great and have taken that putting form out to the course so far. I work from home so have it in my office (wooden floors like your's) and try to have a 5 minute putt as a break from the PC every hour.

I have one....I use it mostly the day before a game as there are no "flat" putts on the course practice green.

I do 100 4-6 footers, and will be using it LOTS in the next few weeks with my new grip and stroke...

Worth every penny.....

There are probably no 100% flat putts on my course, but if you see every short putt as a straight putt, then doing 100 the night before could help you a surprising amount....

I have one very similar to that, but I dont think its Slazenger (do they give K1's away with that):D

I got mine from argos for about a 10er I think. I may start getting it out again but I always felt it was too easy.

There are so many to chose from, I don't want one what's not going to roll flat and have lumps in it...

I seen one from 118Golf that you can practice chips and runs on... but it £30+...

Might buy it for the wife as a anniversary present!!

Parmo link link link, where where where???

The problem with mine is whenits been in box for a while, it doesnt fold flat, Last time I ironed it :D

For me it depends what you want them for? By that I mean what are you looking to achieve by using one?

These mats are fine if all you are doing is using this surface to hone your swing strike and initial line as it sets off, much more than that and they are pointless as an accurate putting tool measure and the above you can achieve on any old mat.

I have seen some very very expensive ones (cant remember make) where you can adjust the green, now they may be useful but most are a waste of space to me.

I think they are pretty useful for grooving a stroke but it does get a bit repetitive if its flat. I like the look for the link hartley put up

Try it with a putting rail....expect it to drive you mad....

I have it across the patio doors and watch TV at the same time, or be on here!

I work from home so have it in my office (wooden floors like your's) and try to have a 5 minute putt as a break from the PC every hour.

Don't do as I did, on the course, reaching for the putter and realising it was sitting at home with my putting mat.

I think there was a guy preparing for this day at my gaff Thursday night, he was putting with his Driver on the practice green :D
