Afternoon all,

I've been putting very well with a Ray Cook, Billy Baroo putter, on loan from my father in law. He's a tall gentleman and when he purchased the putter, in America, he had the shaft extended to 36" from 34".

I've recently bought an Odyssey white hot putter. It has the same feel as the Billy Baroo. I am going to have my new Odyssey putter extended from 34" to 36".

My question is, will the dynamics of the putter change? Swing weight? Loft and lie? Or is it just a case of try it and found out?

Cheers

If you bought the putter from new from a retailer why not have got one with a 36" shaft already. Would have saved the grief of changing

Well, the lie might change because putters, like other clubs, should get flatter as they get longer.

Swingweight will increase, and Scotty Cameron recommends reducing headweight by 10g per inch extension.

Having said that, the wisest course of action is probably to just give it a go and if you like it, play it.
