Proudest Golfing Moment

Being beaten by my daughter the first time she played a full 18 holes this summer.

All my golfing achievements, such as breaking 100, getting down to single figures, winning a board competition were so long ago I can't remember the details. My proudest sporting achievement was winning the club champs at my tennis club a few years ago, and to prove it wasn't a fluke defending the title the following year.:whoo:

Mine was today having 2 birdies and shooting 25 points in winter league 9 hole and knowing I literally and I do mean literally threw away a good few shots and more importantly knowing WHY.

This for me tops an eagle I had because until I played, the clubhouse leader had 24 points and this guy a few months ago complained that I was invited to play in a group he's in and was not of a low enough hcap so to knock him into second place was even nicer.

4 gold letter competition wins at my curent club and 2 at the previous one. A hole in one. Lastly, scoring 84 on the new course at Sunningdale when I'd never played it before.

Getting to single figures and stayin there for a reasonable time was a big deal too.
As was my first sub-par round.[/QUOTE]

There you go thats my challenge, at 9.7 now I want to get to single + shoot sub 70, have come close (71) but if I can do that it will be right up there for me

I'd have to say they getting down to single figures and then consolidating that was one of my moments. Alas, only seem to creep upwards nowadays.

Another moment would be when I won our Summer Meeting, one of our major events, four days after my late father passed away.

Mixed feelings on this one, won our handicap club championship but was lying 3rd after 2 rounds of the scratch championship, proceeded to lose that but win the handicap one as they are played together ( we only do stroke pay no match pay knockout for us).

My first hole in one. At our old course (Royal Ascot) and playing off a 21 H/cap, I played for the second time only in our 'greedy' (friendly roll up). I played one of my best games ever. Got 7 pars, 2 birdies and a hole in one (160 yard 15th). In those days I only had a 3 wood and 4 iron to PW and once I had teed off, the longest club I could hit off the ground was a 6 iron. (maybe I should go back to those clubs)
Had 'half' a hole in one on the new course at Ascot (the 13th on a winter green). Although still great to get it, it didn't feel like a 'proper' hole in one.
Have kept both balls and they sit it my living room cabinet as a reminder

Got several moments but as the thread asked for proudest moment heres mine.............picking up my midweek medal at the presentation night for my win back in May.Having my lass there with me to see it meant so much..I was bursting with pride and it felt great to get loads of cheers as well as I dont no many golfers at my club.THAT night spurred me on to try become a better golfer than I am

Cheers

Winning the Ladies Autumn Meeting last year and the Spring Meeting this year. Just wish that I'd managed to save one of those good rounds for a Board comp though! Bit annoying, as the Autumn and Spring meets usually have over 60 entries, whereas the Board comps are more like 25 competing on average.

Single figures has to be the best,

Winning the GM Centenary Final in Forrest of Arden, also winning the qualifier in Ballyliffin as its links (dont like links)

Reaching my target handicap of 14 this year. Two years ago even playing to 36 was a challenge and sometimes I forget how far I've come.

Three matchplay victories this year - Daily Mail singles 6&5, Summer Singles 6&5 and match away at Brampton 8&7

Chipping in at Blackmoor in front of a GM gallery that didn't think I would even be able to stay on the green!! :)) I kight not have showed it but it made me happy!!
