Professional Golf 2024 & 2025

When are they banning caddies addressing their bag's putts with a wedge. Bringing the game into disrepute. At least, unlike aimpoint, it cannot invade the amateur game. But its still a blight that risks spreading. Stamp it out now USGA/R&A.

Anyone else enjoy The Players and enjoy Sawgrass, but find all the talk of Pete Dye / It was a swamp / background of the course very uninteresting?
I wonder whose history they are trying to ape ?

"Augusta National Golf Club, host of the Masters Tournament, is built on the grounds of the former Fruitland Nursery, bought for $71,000 in 1931. The nursery operated from 1857 to 1910 and became renowned for importing a wide variety of plants from around the world."

47 out of the top 50 in the OWGR - according to PGA Tour on Insta.............................................
It's going to be a decent event, has started well - a PGAT Signature Event plus.
Field strength is an odd one though. For many years and up until 2022, compared with the historical majors, the Players would rank 4th in field strength above The Masters. The US PGA was always first.
However whenever there's a debate on favourite majors, The Masters usually polls top and the US PGA last ! So maybe field strength doesn't resonate with the masses. And perhaps why a focus on smaller fields lately.
Following the shenanigans in 2022, in 2023 the Players moved up to 2nd in OWGR field strength, behind the US PGA. I really wouldn't be surprised if it ends up 1st in 2024 ahead of all the majors. Will have to wait & see.
Of course it will be up to each individual to see how that aligns with their eyes and feelings.

Anyway, back to the 'island green' that isn't an island πŸ‘πŸ˜‰

Shame Tom Kim had to withdraw.
