Probably not the popular idea but....

I meant it would be quicker to vaccinate 9 million over 70s than it would 26 million young folk.
On top of that, I'd guess you would get fewer anti-vaxxers among the old people.

To make a comparison.
Covid gets into school/uni close the school. Worst case scenario is inconvenience for the parents to look after there kids.

Covid gets into a nursing home, end game.☹️

Vaccine hesitancy is a lot more common in the younger population, combine this with a herd immunity estimate of somewhere betweeen 60 and 80% of the population and probable incomplete protection of the vaccine against spread and vaccinating the young is a very ineffective way of preventing disease in the old with the amount of vaccine currently available.
