I'm playing in February, does anyone have any pointers or advice?

I've seen the web site and they have a nice flyover of each hole - I'm slightly nervous!

Looks long and tight tee shots.

Anyone played it before?

Thanks.

Nick

I played all 27 holes during a 2 day trip early in the year back a couple of years. I don't recall it being at all tight - in Feb most of the rough will have died back and you can hit it in a variety of spots and keep moving forward. I also don't recall it being brutally long - will all depend on which tees you play off I guess, but there's no need to go off the tips if you don't fancy it.

I recall that they do not police the start times too stringently, and if you fancied it you could probable sneak round the other nine while no-one is looking.

Hope you have a good day. If you have sun and light winds it'll be fab. If it's 3 degrees, 20mph north easterlies and cloud it might be a bit grim !

As above really, not too tight, although I would invest in a course planner as some of the lines are not obvious from the tee, 3 lovely courses in great nick in a fantastic setting, just pray for the weather!!!

Lovely course...played two rounds summer before last............delicious sunny days with hardly a breath of wind...managed a cheeky +1 on the Saturday and had to pay the penalty in the bar in the evening for a stonking round...needless to say Sunday was more of a challenge. Stayed in their lodge, 8 of us, got a good deal. Pro shop very good and the Pro even took the head off my wedge as it had some resin inside that was rattling around...did it for free!

Have fun...

I'll try. how did you find the courses? tight, rough bad, long drive needed to reach fairway etc? Its a completion so need all the insider knowledge I can get! :D

will be different in Feb...length is not always rewarded but accuracy always is. I played alot of Hybrids/3irons off the tee....advice would be to buy the course planner and try and avoid the fairway bunkers....some are quite deep. One on the 18th on the left to the green is quite the monster....

It doesn't play long, there won't be much rough when you are playing...otoh

It's no easy to comprehend what the right shot is at times; either tee or approach.

Don't be tied into hole yardages, some shorter ones need longer tee shots etc

It's a course that if you are striking the ball well, and can read the designers challenges, you can score on really well - but the converse is also true.
