I'm just wondering what everyone tends to do as they prepare for a round of golf.

I have recently started going to the range beforehand hitting a few balls to get loose in addition to practicing my putting. However since I have been doing it, I tend to be getting off to very slow starts over the first 3/4 holes

Coffee

I go through the bag, hitting a few shots about 5 with each club. Just trying to loosen up really and get a feel for my swing on that day. Then head to the chipping green. Hit a variety of chips then off to the putting green getting a feel for the speed.

I tend to get to the course about 40/30 mins before my tee time.

I struggle with this. If I do manage to get to the club with more than 10 minutes before my tee off time we have nets, but other than getting the stiffness out of my ever-ageing joints I'm not sure of any other benefits. Watching a ball hitting a net 6 feet in front of me tells me little about its flight and real quality of the strike.

Might have the odd putt or two but that's about it really. However I do beat myself up about this and feel I should make an effort to get there 45 minutes early and do a proper and organised routine.

But then...pfft!!

Get to the course, run the first tee, spend 5 minutes getting my breath back, not that the tee is far from the car park, just I'm not very fit, duff first shot, walk to ball still trying to get breath back, duff second shot, the walk up hill to the first green is not helping getting my breath back, 3 putt, walk to second tee, pleased I'm last to tee off, got breath back.

Always taught its important to stretch and losen up before doing sport.

Hitting a few balls never hurts and rehearsing holing out always helps.

If nothing else I like to know I'm heading to the tee ready to do sport.

mine is to rock up on the tee 5 mins before my tee off time, look for a flat spot on the practice green.... then when i can't find one, have one practice swing then off i go;)

Tend to get there early enough to hit balls, especially if it's a comp. A few stretches and then start with wedges up to the driver, few bunker shots, chips and putts and then off to the first tee

Absolutely ridiculous Phil!

Should be tea!

Not even power to wake me up :D

I mainly just arrive - couple of stretches - might have a putt put mainyl dont bother and away we go

I usually get to the club about 40 minutes before I'm due to tee off, go into the bar, order a coffee and sit there observing the girls behind the bar.
I then limp out to the 1st tee.

Today it was a nice latte from Franks Cafe

Then a full fry up meeting the oppo

A couple of putts on the practise green then off we go to a nice level gross round :whoo:
