PowerPlay at The Grove

No it doesn't.

I doubt it will be off the blacks, as it is a bit tough from back there, especially the 3rd, and the 4th is just ridiculous.

Whites would be fine, or yellows for pussies.

Gary/Paul
once again my aplogies for being a thirdwit with the draw.
I have secured an extra tee time so your places are confirmed. Will email you the tee times/info asap
Not heard on which tees but have asked for clarification.

No problem Mike, and thanks for sorting it out for us.

I wouldn't mind the back tees either.......

......if I could hit it as far as Swinger! :D

the tees will be what The Grove want us to play off but to be honest at 8 minutes per tee time and a mix of handicaps we need to make sure it's playable and not going to take ages to get everyone round

You guys have clearly never played it.

The 4th, off the blacks is about 205 to carry the stream. 210 is the middle of a very narrow green (front to back is narrow, it is plenty wide enough left to right). 220 is OB or in the bushes. You need to be very precise to hit and hold this green. Ok for the Pro's hitting 6i and less, bit of an issue for lesser mortals.

Hoping it is not off the blacks, or there won't be many points scored.

4.18pm

Rick Garg - 8
Kieran O’Brien - 8
Neil Bond 20
Mal Gordon 15

Guilty of being Neil Bond.

As the highest handicapper in the field (at least until my cut comes through which I've restrained from posting about somehow, toot toot), I'm fine with whichever tees we end up off. If they're back then I'm always up for a challenge - especially as it's nine holes not eighteen.

I love those short par fours

I have played it off the blacks, and off the whites. It is plenty challenging enough off the whites.

When I have played there before, I have been able to play off any tee I wanted to. They have never enfoced a policy of making certain tees prohibited. That said, I'm just happy to be able to play there, what ever the tees.

I'm in :)

4.49
Gary Mitchell – 7
Paul Little – 5
Simon Hollands -5
Tim Lenihan - 10

Anyone on here want to own up to being Simon or Tim?

Mike - Is the current 4.49 group being shuffled back, or do the groups get 1 minute closer together?

Wo0t I have been looking for one of your posts to see if you had a bio!! And you do you nub!!! Welcome to the forum brother..

I'll go against the grain and say the whites will be perfectly hard enough for me thank you. I want to be able to enjoy the challenge and not feel its a grind to try and boom big shots all the time.

I'll play off whatever tees the majority decide.

I'm really looking forward to the day.....and counting the number of clubs in Jezz's bag.....

Anyone planning on a crazy outfit??? :)

4.41pm
Sam Smith - 5?
Mike Stannard - 10 Hawkeye
Alex Pegler - 19 Alex1975
Stuart Edge - 17?

Does anyone own up to being Sam or Stuart?

Hawkeye looking forward to meeting you sir.

Good group. If hawkeye is on he'll be pretty competitive of that 10 handicap although 25 points on Saturday suggests he was saving himself especially for the Grove and trying not to get a late handicap cut

Alex, Sam Smith is forum stalwart 'SammmeBee', Stuart isn't on the forum but sure you'll convert him!
