I would say 3 for me in terms of handicap, medals, ties etc but I would say 5 in terms of enjoyment! I have really enjoyed my gowf this year.

Started the season at 5.0 climbed to 5.7, dropped to 4.8 and have drifted back to 5.1 Won 1 medal, some ties and any ties I have lost have been up the last or further.

Hitting the ball and putting much better than last season,,,, but cannot shake of the really bad hole or 2 a round. I Haven't not had at least 1 double bogey all year :-(

Pretty happy. I've not been playing long, and after a torrid Portugal trip last September, which came after only playing for around 5 months, I came into this summer apprehensive, but full of optimism, and keen to improve, and boy have I. For pretty much all of last year, I was struggling to play to a 36 handicap, let alone a 28, and breaking 100 felt like a pipe-dream. Now, as we come towards the end of the summer, my ball striking has massively improved, the putting is getting better and better, and in my last 4 rounds of 18, I've gone sub-100 3 times. I've made a couple of small changes to my swing, focusing on shifting my hips towards target, instead of just spinning, and it has had a massive impact on my strike, and pretty much removed my slice.

Last night I played 9, and went round in 46, which, a year ago would have been simply unthinkable, and that was with some pretty atrocious putting. So I've probably knocked 9 shots off this year at least, and am feeling a lot better about my game. Hopefully get my handicap sorted soon, and start working on pushing it down next year. Going away to play 13 rounds in Spain in a couple of weeks, and am feeling like it's then that I'll really see the difference in my game! Roll on September, and once that's gone, next summer! :D

3 for me, average start but managed to find form. Won my first singles Stableford comp and had a handful of top 10's in majors.

Cut from 18.6-16.8 after some pretty consistent golf.

Swing is there just need there just need to focus

Start of season, beginner rarely breaking 100 and playing off 28.

End of season, shot three rounds of 90 in non-qual games (frustratingly close) and playing off 24. And my society h/c is now 21.

A decent season I think. Not quite over yet. Will get to 18 h/c this year.

1 for me sadly. Never practiced so much for no tangible return.
Still enjoying my golf to a degree but never had such a disappointing season and would enjoy it so much more if I could find some form.

A 4 for me. No big wins other than a couple of medals but dropped 2 shots and have managed to post scores even when playing poor. For the most part played ok until injury looks to have curtailed it.
If I had thought at the start of the year I would drop to 10.2 I wouod have taken it there and then. Only 0.8 off my big target but hey ho.

A 2 for me. Handicap has gone from 8.2-8.6. Every round one part of my game has let me down and I've only really had one "good round". I've been stringing together 6-9 very good holes but have hit 5+ terrible shots every round which have destroyed my cards. Having said that, I feel like I'm on the brink - wedge play from 50-110 yards is currently the best it's ever been (this has previously always been a major weakness), short putting is solid and I'm starting to make 2-3 20 footers each round. The issue I've developed this year has been hooking my 3 wood and 3 iron (previously these were my go to clubs for positioning off the tee).

I put a 1 or 2, had a slice with the mouse pointer so not sure. Sums up my season, have probably had under 10 rounds and have only played in 2 competitive rounds!! (+0.1 in both) To be fair i have a list of excuses as long as my arm, but my actual golf has improved i think. practice time is more limited, game time even more so, so in all honesty I am just happy to get on the course or even the range!

My season could go up to a 5 though on Monday when Full Throttle and I are having a knock round my gaff, hopefully 18 round Donnington Grove in the morning will wear him out! But i expect he will batter me!

next season, just want to play a competitive round a couple of times a month and I will be happy.

I've gone for a 3.

I've been piling the 0.1's on but with moving to a new club I knew it wouldn't be that straight forward whilst I learn the course and get to know where not to go! Just started to hit buffer and under handicap in the last few weeks so I'm getting there. If I was at my old club now I'd be running out of competition season, however, at my new heathland club its qualifying comps all year round so hopefully I will now start to see some benefit from my move!

I've also won my 1st ever major (board) comp at the new club last month

I think I might amend mine from 3 down to 2 after today's performance at Moortown, that was bloody tough at times, I hate the name "Heather" from now on

I went for 4.

I'd say I've had a good season, cut a full 6 shots, first ever sub 80 round, a win and qualified for the medal and stableford finals in the first few weeks of the season.

It would be a perfect season if I could win one of the finals or get down to 10.

I've went for 3. Moved club at start of year
Had couple 0.1 at start of season had some cuts recently won couple best gross picked up 9 out of 12 points for scratch team. Picked up some prize money in opens (hopefully pick some more up with maninblack this weekend ;) )Bought new irons. Playing some tasty stuff at moment.
Handicap still 6 but I'm happy with that

Considering what life been like off course this year. Ill take all of this :)

Handicap up from 10.2 to 11.7 so far this year. I've made the buffer zone a few times and won the odd voucher. Also had a few good rounds in friendlies, and made the final of a knockout competition. My ball striking has definitely improved in general, but the wheels occasionally completely fall off my swing, which is mainly why my handicap has gone up. :(

I have voted as a 3. In terms of playing I am enjoying every minute and I have played some fantastic courses this year but my handicap is not moving in the right direction. Think I put a bit too much focus on my handicap in comps but other than that it's all good. I probably should of said 4 thinking on now.

I have played to my handicap more often than not, played steady if un spectacular golf, all gong well right up until last Friday when I was diagnosed with a stress fracture in my left foot, at least. 2 months on the sidelines lie ahead, all in all I would say 4/5 for my season

voted 1, played badly all year, the odd high point half way thru a round, pushing my self to play at the moment, cost me £800 to join 2yrs ago plus £830 a yr so got to play thru it and try to enjoy again,

3 for me. Normally I'd rate it a 2, as I've only played a handful of times and only 3 comps. However, balancing that are the fact that I've enjoyed a couple of forum meets and the h/c is lower than it was at the start of the year after I pulled a 76 out of nowhere in May.

The golf I've played has been enjoyable. There just hasn't been nearly enough.

1. Not played a decent round this year, and haven't played my home course for about 6 weeks, if not more. Not got the drive or the will at the moment. New pro having a look at my swing, so going to try and work it all out at the range before hitting the course again
