I've gone for a 3.

started off well, cut 2 shots and a major comp win in May.

not so good after that, a series of 0.1s back, albeit mostly close to buffer.

just recently things seem to be on the up though, so looking forward to a good end to the season

2, bordering on 1. It's been a shambles to be honest (a bit like Fulham). A few weeks ago I was showing signs of a return to form but a couple of weeks off saw me shoot a fabulous 91 on Saturday.

I would have put 1 but I somehow managed to qualify for our end of season Masters tournament this Sunday so there must have a been a point in the last 12 months that I did something that looked vaguely like a single figure golfer so I've scraped into the '2' category

Been a HORRIBLE year so far , got to 6.4 early doors now at 7.7 ,

Got on the Barton cup team for the club , big foursomes comp in our province , club hasnt been in Final since 1972 , played 3 won 3 and got dropped , fair disappointed , but in fairness my partner and the guy who has replaced me have been winning aswel and playing great , and we have reached the final and are 3-2 down with home leg to come on Nov 6th ..

Not feeling the love for or from golf at mo , but hey ho its only a game ..

aint it ?

Voted 2 if i stay above zero before year end il be lucky :D

Went for a 3. Handicap 0.1 higher than the start of the year but feel I'm playing well but sadly for just 16 or 17 holes and the other two are nightmares and costing any chance of buffer or cuts. It's in there and all facets particularly the putting and short game showing definite signs of improvement. Could have been better but could also have been far worse

I went with a 5. First year as a member of a club. After an initial struggle, handicap having started at 21 is now down to 15.6, including a win which has qualified me for a round at The Oxfordshire :ooo:

I love all these single figure golfers saying woe is me, it's been horrible, I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour etc etc (excluding those who were injured as that is properly not nice).

Hey, take it from someone happy to shoot under 100 at the moment, it's all relative. ;)

No scratch and mid am comps for you then;)

Oy, stop quoting Smiths lyrics on a Golf forum.. Those 2 things just really don't go together.......:D

started well - won the March medal, handicap cut by 3.1 and just lately the wheels seem to have come off!!! Frustrating - you bet.....

I've voted 1
Played very little, for various reasons
Riddled with injuries
Finally taking a break due to shoulder rotator cuff injury
So seasons over :(
Currently have highest handicap I've had in last 5 years ..... 9.2
But to be honest, not bothered in the slightest.....!!

Have actually shot some very decent scores in games with mates, both home and away courses, so there has been some decent stuff

But due to handicap slide, and injury situation, I will stick with the 1 that I voted for

Sorry, lord knows it would be the first time I've done it. All you'd have to do is ask me, ask me, ask me to stop.

It's been the normal up and down season

Started well with a medal win early

Then a few poor rounds

Then won Capts day

Then another few poor rounds

Beaten in two matchplay finals but doing well in society comps

But the big bonus this year is meeting new people from here and getting to play some wonderful courses

2.5 for me so rounded up to 3.....!
Although the handicap has gone up, I've thrown in far fewer bad rounds this year.
Not that many good ones, a couple of low 70's but few real stinkers.
Form comes and goes, clubs work and don't work but generally an OK season that could be better.

4 for me. Reached my handicap target of 16 and picked up a few vouchers along the way. I'm playing well at the moment so hoping to come down a bit further before the season ends.

Not a 5 as I've not been able to play as many qualifiers as I'd hoped.

VC responsibilities have kept me busy, and it's been matches more than medals - although enough comps for the handicap to have slid one more the wrong way. I am even more convinced that your approach to every shot is fundamentally influenced by the type of golf you normally play - yes you can consciously override this but that comes at a mental cost somewhere along the line!

otoh I've improved my knockout stats further with 10 wins and 0 loses so far - doubles won and singles final in a few weeks time.......and next year is supposed to be fun

I have gone for 4, despite winning 3 board comps and my handicap dropping from 15 to 13, I still haven't got the consistency that I am searching for and that was my main aim for the season.

I went with a 3 because I've been 2nd in 2 away comps and 3rd in another also got to the final of my own club match play comp.

But my handicap has been up and down like a pair of whores knickers

4 for me.

Achieved target of the year, but need to keep the handicap as it is or the achievement will be in vain.

Had a medal win early season, few seconds and thirds too. No board comps this year , and still in knockout doubles .... so it might go all the way to a 5 ranking if everything goes well.

Played lots of Hampshire 7's matches, and also scratch team too ... next year club matches will be the targets.

Downside is that I haven't played elsewhere much this year, new job gives me time out during the day, but holiday is severely restricted to term holidays and it's pot luck if I can get games during that time.
