My first eagle was in 1974, and was the closest I've ever been to an albatros. My second shot into a par 5 at Naas GC, Co. Kildare, finished pin high an inch right of the hole.

I also remember an eagle 2 about 25yrs ago. It was blowing a hooley. A long par 4 into the wind and driving rain, SI 4 when stroke indexes were related to degree of difficulty. A full blooded drive split the fairway, followed by another full on driver.

And then there's the one that everyone remembers when they do it - a hole in one.

one.

It was a good one though. Driveable par 4 taken on with big stick. 10ft putt.

It was about 5 years ago. That's more than half of my golfing life. I'm a lot better now, but haven't really got near getting another one.

First ever card for an adult handicap, aged 17 or so at Dungannon in NI. Asked a middle aged member to mark a card for me, and set off with my set of crappy old second hand not very good even when new clubs. The driver had a dent in the face at the edge of the insert, so toed shots did very badly. On the par-5 1st, hit a good drive, a 3 wood second onto the green and holed a 15 foot putt for eagle 3.

"[redacted] hell, son, what sort of handicap are you after?" said the middle aged member. It didn't last.

Had a few others, but my favourite was at at Stewart Creek, a course near Banff in Canada, par 4 of about 400 yards with a huge drop to the green, over a blind crest. Picked am aiming point, hit a 6 iron which took off straight on line, and a playing partner who could see it said "Great shot. Its dead on line. No, its really going straight at it ... It's in". Hold it for a 2, didn't see it. The pitch mark was dead on line about 10 feet short.

Probably had about 20 over the years, but never a hole in one.

Just the little 2 , one on a par 5 with the second shot a 210yrd 3w into green & the other was in a major comp
Par 4 good drive then 145yrds to pin (according to watch) then hit the green and rolled in 😂

Only for comp to be abandoned on the 10th due to bad weather/lightning 😕

A few but not double figures yet, holed a 4 iron this season from almost 200 yards which is probably my best one for distance and the shot itself but have had 1 hole in one on our short par 3

Just the one for me, on our par 5 8th, hit the green in 2 and holed from about 10 feet for an eagle 3.

On the same hole during the winter I hit my 2nd to within 3 feet of the hole on the green but sadly we were playing on temporary green. I knocked the putt in anyway as at that time I had never had an eagle.

I had a good chance of my 2nd a couple of weeks ago when I had a 15 foot putt for an eagle 3, but somehow managed to take 5 putts and walked off with a double bogey 7!

Probably had around 12 over the years. It helps that my regular course has a rather short par 4 (264 yds) and that the green is drivable on a good day. Funny enough my last eagle on this hole (12th) was in this months medal a few weeks back. Drove to about 10ft and sunk the putt.

A couple of years ago on a GM forum meet at Cooden Beach I managed an eagle on (I think) the par 4 5th. Ball pitched over a bunker and skipped past another bunker greenside before coming to rest on the green. Holed out for a two.

This summer I've eagled our par 5 3rd, drove the green and sunk the putt from 6foot on the 12th and a hole in 1 on 13th.

Sadly not during the same round

First one in competition was back home in Ireland. Holed out with an 8 iron on a par 5. So chuffed I played rubbish the rest of the round.

Quite a few, how many I can't remember, but 2yrs ago playing in scratch Rose Bowl at Strensall, on the par 5 15th I pitched a50yd shot onto the severe left to right green, checked up and ran out taking the break and into the hole, on the very next hole 16th hit a 5w over the mound and hit a 9i to a front left pin behind the bunker and it flew in on the fly, 3,2, on the 17th 200yd par 3 a 4i never left the pin, arrow straight, and called it in the air that's goin to be close. You can't see the green from the tee, so walking up I thought what would give me the most satisfaction going 3,2,1 or treble Eagles.............. but alas my tee shot was 10ft beyond the pin, missed the birdie and proceeded to take a 7 on the par 4 18th.... Golf bit my ass and brought me back down again....lolllll

playing at Badgemore Park at Henley on Thames - eagles are a rare commodity. BUT with all the Red Kites we have up there - the count on hitting them could be much higher!!!!!

None. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

The people I play with are amazed as I should be able reach on at least 2 of our par 5's. Nearly slam dunked a tee shot on a par 3 a couple of years back, as the pitch mark pretty much h covered the hole, but nothing so far. It's definitely coming though...

Even though i've been playing this game for about 10 years now i can honestly say that i've never ever hit a regulation par 5 in 2 so eagle potential is minimal for me . I have however made just the one eagle holing a 5 iron from roughly 170 yards at the 3rd of my old club FOrrester Park. Was hitting straight into the sun so didn't even see it go in !!!!!

What hole at FP?? A few of us on here used to be members there. I left just over a year ago and a couple other more recently.

I have had one and it's the highlight of my illustrious golfing career. It was on the par 5 5th at my place. Driver, 5 iron into around 12 feet and then sunk the putt. I don't think I have ever put 3 great shots together in a row.

Personally I have had just the one.

I was having a 9 hole playing lesson and drove a par 4 green in 1. The pro said to me that he would hit that green probably 1 in 10 times. I missed the eagle and walked off with a birdie.

After the 9 hole lesson, I played the same 9 holes, lo-and-behold I hit the green in 1 again and this time drained the eagle putt.

It's the only time I've played that course, so my record for that hole is played twice and 3 under par!!
